Hi guys!

I wanted to say, first off, that I really like Wiiflow, and thanks for creating and supporting it!

However, I do have a question. I have it set up and originally I just had two usb thumb drives with isos on them to run my backups - one had Gamecube isos on a FAT 32 format and the other had Wii isos on a WBFS partition. Both work great and also have the covers and banners. No issues whatsoever.

However, I just recently got 2 more usb thumb drives to hold more Gamecube backups and Wii backups. The first that has gamecube backups is exactly the same as the first usb drive I have with gamecube backups - FAT 32 and just the isos in the root. The second usb has the Wii backups, and instead of being WBFS, it's all isos in an NTFS format.

Here's the issue:

When I plug in these new usbs and load up wiiflow, they don't show up immediately like the other usb backups do, with covers and whatnot, and when I try to download covers or reload the cache to display them, nothing happens. However, I can go into File Explorer and load up the iso files themselves just fine and the games play perfectly as well.

I'm just wondering why only those first 2 usb devices seem to be the ones that wiiflow recognizes and allows me to download covers for, and not the new ones.

Can anyone shed some light on this issue?

Thanks so much. :)
Not all thumb drives are created equal and WiiFlow (and other USB loaders) have problems with some. If you can get a small hard drive you will have much better compatibility.

You may also want to confirm that there are no hidden partitions as the Wii usually doesn't like those.

Hey guys, I've updated wiiflow wiki a little.

Wiki What's New?
1/20/16 - updated the compiling wiiflow page to include github instructions and make it easier to understand. i hope. Also fixed the violet theme images and download. Added Nintendont setup page. Not much to say, everything is on the OP of Nintendont thread. it's not finished , just general info for now.

1/16/16 - Changed the homepage intro, made separate history section, and updated the downloads section to no longer show beta downloads and let people know the last official version of wiiflow doesn't support Nintendont. They must use Abz's mod for Nintendont.- Updated the Installing Wiiflow page to better show how to install and setup on a Wii or Wii U.

Check it out and let me know if find any errors or problems or have a better way of compiling. Looks like I need to go thru the themes section to make sure all links and pics are still working. Enjoy!

nice wiki really helps out btw is it poosble for you to add to it fresh made emunand for vwii and sd version?
1. i don't have a wii u so I only know what i read here and there.
2. Abdallahterro made the wii fresh made emunand so maybe he can make one for vwii too. I'll have to ask.
3. again i'm not very knowledgeable on emunands on SD.

But if I find anything out then i'm sure i will work on adding it to the wiki.

Does anyone here use cps2 games with wiiflow? Whenever I launch them it goes to retroarch and not straight to the game. Is this what it is supposed to do? All my other games in wiiflow go straight to the game. Thanks.

it sounds like wiiflow is launching fba_cps2.dol but the arguments aren't going thru. the arguments tell fba_cps2.dol the path to the rom and the name of the rom. post your fba_cps2.ini

mine looks like this: note the first line is empty.

[PLUGIN]
arguments={device}:/{path}/|{name}
bannersound=CPS2.ogg
consolecoverid=
covercolor=ffffff
coverfolder=fba_cps2
displayname=FBA CPS2
dolfile=retroarch-wii/fba_cores_cps2.dol
filetypes=.zip
magic=43505332
romdir=fb_alpha/cps2 roms

just a thought that crossed my mind - i've been setting up the Wii for the in my car, trying to make everything work PERFECT. going through WiiFlow to cache everything is such a tedious task, any chance of that ever becoming an option? like a Cache All feature?

I've installed this package (MasterMod Pack v4.2.3) on my SD card plus a few other things....
Is it possible to do a direct launch of a Wii game or other games From wiiflow?
-
Every once in awhile when I'm flipping through the games on wiiflow I get a screen similar to this one And then wiiflow restats itself and runs normal again but it never does it if I have my camera ready LOL...

maybe one of your cached files or cover files is corrupted 9especially if the crash happens in the same spot every time)
if so, delete the cache, scan the device, check the covers manually for any corrupted image and finally rebuild the cache

Has anyone tried to make a paintown plugin? @Wiimpathy
I just started messing around with this app to see if it would open pak's openbor wouldnt. Not much luck. That being said it supports mugen and some platformer engine (like mario maker) that I can't find any games to.

Hello. I have 2 problems with WiiFlow

- Partition 1 must be the FAT32 formatted or WiiFlow does not work correctly
- WiiFlow download the wrong wiitdb file. (not all Titles included) You have to download it separately for each category and than search for covers again (GameCube, Wii .... )
My german forum post for this http://forum.wii-homebrew.com/index.php/Thread/51639-Fragen-zur-wiitdb-möglicher-Fehler/

I already wrote down this problem into the google code page years before don´t know you recognized this for the new Update ?

And can you please add the Wiimmfi Cheat Code Fix for Mario Strikers Charged Football to the WiiFlow Cheatcode Database ?

Thank you.

There hasn't been much development on WiiFlow for some time. Regarding the FAT32 issue... have you tried putting WiiFlow and the supporting files (apps/wiiflow and wiifow folders) on an SD card? I thought that worked if you had an NTFS partition.

I don't know about the wiidb file issue.

I know that wiiflow supports NEEK natively. Does it support autobooting wii games into SNEEK+DI or some other form of disc drive emulation? I am attempting to run the wii without any disc drive daughterboard connected. I was not able to figure out how to get nand emulation running through wiiflow.

I've tried some time ago. No success either from what I remember. Impossible to compile a wii build with last source. The app was a bit buggy too so i gave up...

Here are a few things that I've done recently though.

Scummvm-mod14
Sync with Github. New games : Labyrinth of time, Sherlock Holmes(Rose tatoo is crashing) etc. See ScummVM website.

Source code

DosBox_Wii_R1
It's based on 1.7 with a few changes:
* GameCube pad support in-game : add joystick=fcs in Dosbox .conf file.
* Navigate menu with GC pad, open it with Start+Z.
* Mapper button to remap keyboard/controllers(same as CTRL-F1).
* New top menu buttons, from left to right: cycles, frameskip, scaler.
Push + or - to increase/decrease cycles/frameskip. Push the tv button to change the filter.
* Conf file saved automatically when exiting if values have been modified("config -wc").

I find it more convenient to able to change cpu cycles, and frameskip directly without exiting the game.
It's the 2 options I change the most frequently.

no but yes if you modify the source code and compile it. look in source/gc/gc.hpp for #define NIN_LOADER_PATH "%s:/apps/nintendont/boot.dol" i think its line #25. change that and compile but you will need Abdallahterro's source code and the necessary libogc and PPC versions.

Also in wiiflow main settings there's a path manager menu that a setting to set Nintendonts path could easily be added.
