Glad all of you are liking the new release. Joostin, I'm sorry for your problem but changes were needed. And unfortunately :D there will be more changes to come.

kylster I'm not sure what you mean with your question about IOS253.

Jskyboo still getting an error when reading from USB for WAD Manager and apploader. Loading wiimod from USB w/forwarder on SM. I didn't get an opportunity to use 2.9 before 3.0 came out so I used your latest release. I entered DisableSetAHBPROT=1 to use it and changed it to cIOS236. It freezes for about a minute before it tells me
Code:
Mounting Device please wait.....ok!
Retrieving file list.... failed to diropen usb:/
So far 2.7 seems the way to go if I want to use my USB exclusively and since I have boot2 inserting the SD card is fine with me but it becomes a pain with bootmii and renaming. Any other suggestions I can try to get my USB working with 3.0? Maybe settting AutoLoadIOS to 236 or anything else? And don't get me wrong I think you're doing great with WiiMod and where it's going. I would just love to have the USB functionality back to where it used to be ;-)
Well I don't know what's going on because it's working with my USB drive both 2.9 and 3.0. Would you mind doing some testing for the next release? Maybe we'll be able to figure out what's wrong. How about anyone else, does USB work for you with DisableSetAHBPROT=1 set?

I'm all for it. I like to test so just let me know. Shoot me a PM, I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

Yo J let me know whenever if you'd like me to test something out for you. I know the holidays are coming up and we'll all prob be busy but the offer is definitely on the table whenever you'd like. I'd like this to be my one and only program for many situations but as it stands I'm still at 2.7 for USB only to use at full capacity :( either way the program's great man so thanks.

during our long descussions of ISO3 I came across a Wii today that was never modded at least to mine or his knowledge nor did it show any signs of any IOS above 200 except the official stubs.

IOS3 is actually purple and has a particular message there I'll post the pics and a video.

I'll send you a pm when I have something ready. I have been pretty busy lately and with the holiday season and everything I'm not sure when I'll have something to test but when I do I'll let you know.

Very interesting. Well first thing to do is check if it is officially signed. You need to dump it to a wad, then you have to lose AHBPROT and reload an IOS that does NOT have the fakesign permission. So the way I do this is to lose AHBPROT reload an IOS < 22, so like IOS 16, then reload an IOS that does not have the trucha bug like a clean IOS 58. Then just go to wad manager and see if you can install it. If you can then it is officially signed, if not then who knows what you have there.

If it is officially signed though, then go to Check IOS and make sure you select "Dump Hashes", run it, and then post the csv(or at least the IOS 3 line).

I know I gave you that code for checking the original Wii earlier, but I still had to tidy it up some and correctly identify what had been added by me. The final product is at http://tinyurl.com/CheckRegion

Just replace the two conf files with the new ones. Please send me your latest copy of detect_settings.c detect_settings.h once you've added it so the functions can be in the same place as BLIND.
Thanks, I'll check it out and let you know once it's added in.

Well it's official signed by nintendo..... so this is like a 1st time ever?

Is there a line I could add to wiimod.txt cause in the options I can choose 1 next to dump hashes but it wont do nothing? I tried pressing A, U,D,L,R,B,1,2 only B will do something which is take me back out and not save the settings
First time I've heard of it actually seen, but it was known about before so others have seen it. But since it's not on nus and such I haven't come across it and so don't have the hash for it.

After you set dump hashes to 1 you then select check ios and press a. It changes the csv output so that it prints the hashes.

just edited my post above :) there are the hashes I also sent you a pm but I'm sure you noticed.

Oh I dumped it from their Wii and then installed it on mine cause I had their unpluged atm and then re-installed it on my Wii so yeah the csv is from my Wii but the IOS3 still shows up as purple and such.

Congratulations you are a winner! You just won yourself another beer! Umm it means you have come across an official IOS that is known/thought to exist but that I haven't actually seen before. So since I don't have the hash for it I can't mark it as an official IOS. But if you have an IOS that has the version of a known but unseen IOS it is marked in purple so hopefully you do what you did and post here. "Know what the csv of the IOS is w/o 1st hacking it"?? Not sure what you meant there.

Yeah it doesn't matter which Wii the csv is from as long as the IOS was officially signed. But you probably should be careful with the IOS it is supposed to be a stub. Thanks for the finding, thanks to you the stub deleter will remove this IOS in the next release.

Alright! :) thank you.

Well I asked about the csv cause the description says post your csv of the IOS online and see if your a winner and it says (maybe stub) it just made me curious.

EDIT: Just Modified a New RED Wii and it too had IOS3 installed maybe all newer Wii's have this IOS?

Yep, I disable AHBPROT

@burritoboy9984, I have 2 partitions, FAT32 and NFST, other Homebrew apps see FAT32 just fine. I load it through 249 (has NAND permission and ES_inditify)

I have a wad folder in the USB0, but it doesn't see .wad files...

That doesn't actually disable AHBPROT, it disables the ability to keep AHBPROT when reloading an IOS (that feature blocks USB).

Make sure your config file located in SD:/wad/wiimod/wiimod.txt

Why don't you go ahead and copy your entire wiimod.txt file in a spoiler, including any comments that are in it.

This is in sd:/apps/wiimod/wiimod.txt
I put it in sd:/wad/wiimod/wiimod.txt (too)
And just in case usb:/wad/wiimod.txt :P

Code:
AutoLoadIOS=249
AutoLoadOnInstall=1
DisableSetAHBPROT=1

My HDD just disconnect, it stop spining as soon I open the app =/ (I fixed the spin down btw)

NOTE: It effectively loads IOS249 at start, and the green AHBPROT text doesn't appear, so I guess the app is actually reading the wiimod.txt

Try adding these lines:
Code:
FatDevice=usb
StartupPath=/wad
and removing:
Code:
AutoLoadIOS=249

Drag this on ModMii.exe:
http://www.mediafire.com/?amr9c9o4f0djrdp
It will patch IOS58 and change the slot to 248.

It's the same process as installing a cIOS with base 58 right?

    They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".
  • Veho @ Veho:
    It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

    Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite
    for people with beefy hands.

    @SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

    but that's a long shot

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
    A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

    anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

    if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

    Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

    @BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
    You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
    still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
    i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
    It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
