Just bought a 3DS XL (Black/Blue) NTSC (So, America, Canada, etc.) and it has AT MOST SW12xxxxx for the serial number. Does the SW12 guarentee 4.5 or below? Thanks. It is new, btw. It was sitting on a shelf for years, apparently haha!

Just say that the same seller I noted before has more of these available on eBay. I asked, and they said that all serial numbers are SW10, SW11, or SW12.

Thanks for the feedback, now im more confident, also, very cheap, here in Portugal the Xl costs 200 €, its crazy, i get it from amazon.it from 164€ with shipping.

I bought it on Friday (14/11/14). There's no guarantee it will be the same firmware, I was just pointing out that Tesco's have old stock of this model.

i think all bundles are 'old', that they don't make new ones... i'm pretty sure

Yesterday I bought the Super Mario 3D Land bundle anyway (White 3DS XL), and unfortunately the firmware was 8.1 (though that was to be expected). I updated to 9.2 today hoping that the new Gateway update will solve my 'problem'. So for people interested in the SML3D bundle, there seem to be no clear guarantees on FW. I bought mine from bol.com, a Dutch website (for anyone who is thinking of buying it there).
