access to usb ports, being able to have loadiine and tcpgecko etc as titles not browser hacks, the ability to switch the console on and it being hacked with no further steps, theres many many more reasons.

And yet, given what the OP Mr. Rean posted, I don't exactly have what one would call high hopes of IOSU access made public, and like I said, that would mean stagnant hacking scene; it would be come more necrotic. It's the internet equivalent of necrotizing fasciitis.

The thing with vWii is that it's pretty boring if you already owned a Wii.
I have a hacked Wii. I hacked my vWii. They essentially do the same thing.

Even so, the fact that the exploit was mentioned ad infinitum in the past, and present, but then got held back (permanently) doesn't give us the highest of hopes. Maybe we were all wrong in ever hoping to see IOSU kernel access from the get go.
vWii is very limited in what can be run and is getting kind of boring, to be honest, emulators are severely limited by the low clock speed and lack of sufficient/accessible RAM. That's how I see this in a nutshell, I'm probably wrong though.

Summed up? There's no point in even discussing public IOSU kernels, really, am I wrong?

Edit: For the record, I'm trying to assess the situation and looking at various view points, and so far what I see...I don't know.

(for backup reasons)

Wiiu modding at "full"
(smash, mario maker, splatoon ect ect)

3)
full cpus and gpu use for emus (retroarch would benefit a lot)

emunand ... brick recovering... ect ect...

and maybe people here could list some more things ... but for me is ok vWii i bought only 40 games for wiiu in the end ... i didn't even hacked the 3ds so this gen passed without hacking ...
