That's a matter of taste, really. The 3DS still has a lot of catching up to do in the "games that I enjoy" department compared to the PSVita, I've easily clocked way more hours on my PSVita than I did on my 3DS. To be honest, there's only four games* I actively play/ed on my 3DS compared to dozens on the PSVita, so hey!

You see the issue here is, the games they have, they don't do much the advertising department.
So it's kinda like the N64, yes it has games, yes the games it has are enjoyable, but it really doesn't have a lot of them or it doesn't do enough to advertise the ones it has.
I am not bashing the system, I've been concerned with it since launch, they can't expect a system to sell, but don't push it do so. Putting up yet another port of Minecraft isn't pushing the system, it's pushing another screen that I can play another version of Minecraft on and that's just weak marketing.

My 3DS XL is more or less a paper weight right now. I simply spent more time on my Vita than 3DS.

They definitely dropped the ball on marketing the system, but I think they gave up at this point in favour of marketing the PlayStation 4. They want it to steamroll over the competition, so they'll let the PSVita market itself, however poorly it does right now.
