Only certain upgrade/downgrade paths are documented, and there's a very good reason for that, as you found out. Likely something flaked out and you ended up with some flavor of frankenfirmware that wouldn't properly update.

yep and removed sd card and all the other steps. nfirm downgrade brick, so just to understand my stupidity what exploit enables nfirm downgrade?
As of now, SafeHax, udsploit and SafeCTRTransfer. Use the guide, you don't have to install A9LH but I would recommend it just for the sheer fact you'll have a reliable means to recover. If you don't want to use A9LH's full potential fine but at least C.Y.A.

Google is a better friend.
Heh. Yeah. I agree now. I could explain further, but that would be off topic by FAR. xD 1 file: prot_boot9.bin

All we need for sigloryhax to be worked with a public universal signature. :)

if only paper signatures can work for digital signatures. Sign name, company, then BAM! Instant legit signature offline spoofing Nintendo's private key. (yes this will nevur happen, so RIP. xD)

like the hell hole the freeshop thread is possibly turning into?
Not exactly. FreeShop had more to do with Nintendo's involvement. This on the other hand can cause a lot of misinformation as questions are constantly being asked. Plus it is generally a good idea to keep discussion on topic.

ya...sadly a lot of people out there read something once, look nowhere else and just think of everything said as fact or ask questions already answered, although thats partly added to by that crappy search options for this

is the bootldr (I assume theirs two (N3DS and O3ds) universal or console specific?

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

It's highly illegal, that's why

how can it be more illegal than anything else we're doing K exploits A9LH Piracy Freeshop it all does one thing circumvent 3ds security the only way i can think of it MORE illegal is by holding the info for ransom

It's different when you're a high profile person that has appeared openly in public.

    Exactly.

Thor from "Pirate Software" said its just better to pirate the game than buy from a keyshop if you care about the devs

devs don't get hit with the chargebacks, the keys are free to generate

since the key gets bought with a stolen credit card
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
there's nothing to charge back because the keys don't cost them money to generate in the first place
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
If the game has a crack sure
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Most these crack sites have dead links anymore or the crack don't even work
  • linuxares @ linuxares:
@The Real Jdbye What don't you get? If someone use a stolen creditcard. Then sell said key on G2A. If I the dev sold the game key, I will get the charge back cost. That's how it works, it doesn't matter if I generate 300 keys if 300 of them are bought with stolen credit cards. I never said it was on Steam, but its the dev that gets hit. There is a ton of stories out there if you google it.
