Gaming Safe to install freeshop/ciangel version of a game before the release date?

Is it safe to install a game through freeshop/ciangel/funkeycia that hasn't been released yet? Presumably it should be since it should act the same as a legit preload (and thus not be playable until the release date when the seed goes up) but I just wanted to be sure.

Freeshop doesn't cache preloads so those wont show till release but the other tools should generate preloads.

Just don't go online til release. Like, seriously, better safe than sorry so do what I did for Sun: Turn off wireless features period during the time between install and release
