By unlocking, do you mean "being able to set them as Magicite as soon as you turn the codes on" OR "Have all Eidolon magicites in your materials list"? If it is the latter, I have everything.

TBH I seriously do not know what you meant in your comment.
Like having them appear on the magecite crystal list. But yeah my main focus has been trying to find out the job ID's but no luck there.

I said in my original post "materials, souls, and magicites x255" i didn't mention unlocking them on the list. And Only Vanilla Eidolons appear on that list. None of their counter parts

Yes, I understood that -_- I was asking if you had luck for the magicite list is all, as for me the values are dynamic. Can't seem to find the specific offset for it and jobs.

Let me guess. No. I don't have it. I'd post if I found it already. That's why you make back ups every time you unlock a job and compare those two files.

Besides, unlocking jobs is not the difficult.

Can we edit stats .?
There no NTR out, so you can't edit like MH4U.
You can edit stat on a weapon, see the save made last page.
Note, there is a limit, as the stat increase is the same way you upgrade a weapon in game, with a max of 50 points

You can't put it in any slot. It has to follow the next available slot. So if you have 10 weapons, you will have to put it in the 11th slot. If you put it in, for an example, slot 30, the game will not register it until you fill up slots 1-29.

0x722cb2ef is the ID and 0x108 is a index in a table. ID is the first 4 bytes and index is the last 4 bytes in a weapon entry. For weapons, the entries start at 0x548.

Update:
You can now add weapons by right clicking weapon list.

So uh, how do I actually use the editor? I have the 2 files and my .sav in a folder together, nothing works

in the editor, did you remember to open, then chose your save?
So I did that, now do i have to import the save?

edit: Sorry I mean, i opened the .sav, edited it, then put the .sav file back into my micro sd root, yet FF explorers doesn't recognize my save file now.

.sav?
how did you get your save btw? SVDT? SDF? SM?
Or did you try to get it directly from the SD card?

I think i copied it directly from my microsd, because it doesnt show up in savedatafiler but it's in the root of the microsd
That your problem.
Copying directly is not how you edit saves, since SDF or SVDT inject the saves correctly to make it playable.

I use the homebrew SVDT, mostly because I don't know how to use SDF.

No one said that the file was a .sav format. And that you had to dump it via SDM OR SVDT. If you don't have a backup before you edited it, you're screwed now.

I have a copy of a save before the dlc serial was added and immediately after. I can see differences when comparing the hex files in both the pass0 and game0 files, but making those changes to my copies does not seem to add the DLC quest tab....has this been found yet or is someone able to help me?

yall im torn... ive been hacking away at tales of phantasia GBA (the USA version) and have so many documents of reverse engineering i've done
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I just found out that the EU version is better in literally every way, better sound quality, better lighting, and there's even a patch someone made to make the text look nicer
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one ;)
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though

    I appreciate the insight!
