This is version 2 of this mod! If you have the earlier version and would rather use this one, you'll need to redownload.

What does this mod do?
It replaces Project Mirai's in-game button icons with Playstation style ones that I made. I tried to keep the look fairly close to Project Diva's icons, since I couldn't find any premade sprites to use. Each one was made in Adobe Illustrator.

How do I install it?
Simply download the .rar archive below and drop the luma folder inside on the root of your SD card. From there, enable Luma's game patching by holding select on boot, then press start to save and reboot.

If you don't have CFW, follow http://3ds.guide to get it. If you have the knowledge/skill, you can also make a HANS rofms archive for use with Homebrew alone.

Demonstration
Sorry for the lack of sound, I currently have no way to record audio from my 3DS as my new laptop has no mic jack.

This should make it wayy easier to play, I've got those PSP buttons burnt into my mind.

As somebody who has never played a HM game on a playstation console, i still find this mod very helpful. The PS controller buttons are much more distinct and faster to read. :D

Is anyone else experiencing a glitch on Sweet Magic where the normal b button is showing at the end of cross hold button instead of the cross button icon, and occasionally suddenly changes from the b button to the cross button?

Yes, it is not perfect unfortunately. The original button icon sometimes appears as it fades out.

What a relief, I thought I corrupted the patch by using modmoon constantly.

Can you also change the color of the arrows to match the playstation buttons?
I see a blue arrow and press down but the arrow points up :c
Thank you very much for this mod!

nvm just found out you can do that in game, here is how assuming that you already patched the game;
Go to rhythm game
Select any difficulty in button mode
Press L so you open the "Play Options" menu
Press R 2 times to get to the "Icon" tab
Here change the style of the main line from ABXY to → ↓ ← ↑
Then set the colors according to the playstation button scheme → red, ↓ blue, ← pink and ↑ green
Finally set back the main line to ABXY (and the dual line if you want to do so)

This will change the arrows' color to match the playstation button. The hold button's trail color will also be changed doing this.

If you play like me handswitching you'd like to set the dual line to ABXY, I often press → instread of O and then I have to press → and my mind explodes.

Please add that to the installation instructions!!
Thanks again for the mod!!!

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

  • cearp @ cearp:
@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space

  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
Nor clothes 🤮 . Saves on time, soap, water and money having to wash them. :D
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@rqkaiju2, Physical media is a great source for archiving your data, none of that cloud storage shiz.
