Hacking o3ds wont boot from sd card

my o3ds will not boot with the sd card, it boots fine without it im running b9s with luma. i cannot access the luma configs or payloads. im fairly certain that both b9s and luma are on latest version. ive tried inserting the sd card once booted in and nothing happens. im am thinking about possibly using a fresh sd card and putting only essentials on it to see if its my system or something dumb ive done on the current sd card. the sd card works fine when put into a pc. what files would i need for the system to boot? sorry if im not quite right with the terminology its been a while since the last time i used my 3ds.

Note: i will probably be going to sleep soon so you might not get responses for a while.

boot.firm in the root of your sd card. Make sure, the switch on the sd card is not on the "Lock" position.

i found another sd card and put the luma boot.firm file on it and the system now boots from sd just fine. it seems like it was something weird i did with my previous sd card. anyway im now going to start following the finalizing setup part of the 3ds.hacks.guide
