Hacking Nintendont

That's not a Nintendont problem. That's a Wiiflow problem. Run it from the HBC.

I've tried. It won't load, gives the message "This is not a valid Wii application." I've also tried using USB Loader GX, but no games (Wii or GC) are showing up there. In Wiiflow everything except GC games works fine, which is why I mentioned it in that context.

I think there is something wrong with your SD or USB drive.

The category is, but that doesn't mean yours specifically is supported. I'd suggest doing a Check Disk on it first though, in case there is some corruption.

Since I'm sure a lot of people didn't read the update log, I'd like to quote this for emphasis. I'd also like it if it got added to the first post.

Don't bother asking for a full GUI, coverflow, or anything else graphics related. This is as good as it's going to get. Use another loader if you want something nicer. The purpose was to make the text easier to read on small screens, and to add flexibility for the devs by making font size customizable.

Actually Joostin you're wrong, Sonic Adventure Alpha works now, also Sonic Mega Collection works fine now (a little delay as you play longer but that's expected) the music doesn't garble and all games work fine, sadly though the proto version still has audio issues and most games don't have audio while the game in general has garbled audio, Sonic Adventure Chao Race still black screens, Sonic Riders still freezes after the third race, and Mario Kart Arcade GP 2 now black screens at start (confirm?), I have to say though while I like the new font I think the background is a little distracting, why did you move the SD/USB option to the center right on top of the logo I don't understand, also the Native Controls option is completely cut on my TV screen, I know it's there though cause I could see small dots and I moved the pointer to it, I just can't see wither it's on or off (mostly off since I never turn it on), other than that looking good!

Yes. You need Rev.1233. I don't think it has been pushed to internal update yet so you will have to download it off the internet.

Ralf has added a few more games with Widescreen codes, let me look into them and I'll add those too.

You can't change the region just by doing that.
Each save file has a code to specify the region of the game.
Not only that, but each game has different HEX addresses for most of the items/characters/etc data between regions.

So you can't simply do that, it would require some heavy HEX/ASM hacking to be able to do so.
If you are on a hurry, you can download a GCI for the region you want from GameFAQs and inject it into the .raw using Dolphin.

Alright, I checked the SD for errors and it's fine. Tried rev 217 of nintendont. filepath is sd:/apps/nintendont/ which contains boot.dol, meta.xml, icon.png, titles.txt

In the HBC, it appears but has no description or icon. The only other app like that I have is Savegame Manager GX, but that one loads fine.

I also tried loading it by selecting Nintendont in Wiiflow's menus, and that made my system freeze.

So it is:
- not displaying correctly in HBC
- not recognized as an app by HBC
- not accessible through Wiiflow
- not making a gamecube iso appear in any USB/SD loaders

What could be the problem?

Edit: solved! Deleted nincfg.bin and re-downloaded the boot.dol and meta.xml. It finally works!

This is really helpful, thanks. How do you know which version of the game you have, though? I tried using your step-by-step for applying cheats MANY pages back, but couldn't get it to work no matter how much I tried, even following your instructions to the letter. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong.
