Nope, since you are making an injection and not a forwarder then it does not matter where the .dol file came from.

Perfect, the new inject is working, the home button kicks me straight to wii u menu!!

Thanks so much for helping me figure it out!!

So I ended up having no need for the .wad file that installed the nintendont forwarder on the vWii? It would be safe to uninstall?

I ask because I'm building a backup of the SD card to give to a friend and I can't remember now if the vWii nintendont forwarder i installed with YAWMM was necessary?

Just uninstall the Wad using the Wii menu's data management. Since the injection worked, the vWii forwarder is now unnecessary.

I just realized I deleted sd/wad for some reason. If I create a new sd/wad and put the wad files back into the folder can I uninstall it with YAWMM?

So if I give my friend a backup of my sd card, in order for them to install nintendont w/ forwarder (he has no wiimote) they just need the nintendont files in sd/apps/nintendont and they need to install the VC inject with WUP installer? Right?

Don't know why I'm blanking on this, my mind is fried because I tried so many methods, they're all just blurring together now

Don't worry about the blanking, that's why I'm here to help! You only need the Nintendont files as well as the contents of the "install" folder in the root of your SD Card.

Yes, that's how it works. And no, you do not need to use FTP. Use ShowMiiWads to look at the title ID of the Nintendont wad. Also, BE SURE THAT THE WAD IS FOR THE VWII. A wad meant for the original Wii WILL NOT WORK AND YOU RISK BRICKING THE VWII.

Hey, I just wanted to come back to this because I've come across a .wad file for a ROM hack I want to play on vwii. But it was originally designed for Wii. The person who gave it to me said it works on Wii u and that only forwarders and vc injects need to be made for vWii.

They said games never have vwii versions and that it's safe to install it on vwii.

Do you know if that's true?

Can you give me more information about the .wad file? What's the name? As for the claim that only forwarders and injects need to be made specifically for the vWii, I'm pretty sure that requirement also extends for any unofficial wads. I think that only official wads (WiiWare, Virtual Console, Channels) work on both Wii and vWii without any risk. But I can't confirm that. And I'm honestly not willing to test that since I'd rather avoid any kind of brick risk.
If you're willing to test it, then by all means go ahead. If you end up bricking the vWii, they are now plenty of methods to fix it that are pretty accessible and simple to do.
