‘Legend of Zelda’ Movie in the Works

zelda-movie-header.jpg

As reported on by "The Hollywood Reporter" a live action adaptation of The Legend of Zelda is in the works. Being produced by Nintendo and Arad Productions and being co-financed by Sony Pictures, the movie is in the early stages but has been in active development for years. Wes Ball of the Maze Runner trilogy is set to direct.

"Nintendo representative director and fellow Shigeru Miyamoto, who is set to produce the project, posted Tuesday to X (formerly Twitter) that he and Arad have been working on a live-action movie version “for many years now.”

Miyamoto continued, “We have now officially started the development of the film with Nintendo itself heavily involved in the production. It will take time until its completion, but I hope you look forward to seeing it.”

The “Zelda” movie is co-produced by Arad, whose credits include every live-action “Spider-Man” movie and the “Spider-Verse” animated films. The film will be co-financed by Nintendo and Sony Pictures Entertainment, with more than 50% financed by Nintendo. Sony will handle the theatrical distribution.

Link always talk, they just never show it
If you pay attention, sometimes the interlocutor repeat what link just says. so, Link always talk, only for some strange reason we don't hear him.

for some reason.
Lol ofc i know that silly! I've been played of most of zelda games and he does talk. Just by facing multiple choice in dialogue, you know he speak. As evident when we hear him say, come on in windwaker. And also hero shade from twilight princess. (Who is the ghost of link from ocarina of time)

I was only kidding since Tom Holland's pic was brilliant. Knowing him, he's a very talkative person compared to Link's character who I would best describe as a man of words, that's why i made a joke 'that would explain why he would speak in movie now'. Or 'have a script in movie' is probably the better phrasing.

They should go full hylian war and cgi it with similar art style used in LOTR films, lets see if Nintendo can actually pan out a massive story arch to cram as much into what could be a decent Zelda movie or be another shit game to movie cash cow.

Or will Nintendo wuss out on such a high production cost and want it like its consoles, cheaply done knowing its devoted fanboys will blindly pay to see it multiple times and buy it....

Well it cant he worse than the original Mario movie so

I'm pretty sure Nintendo proclaimed multiverse before it was cool. I'm just gonna sit back and relax until they announce the CiaoCiao spinoffs.

It can also be Dragon Ball Z bad, or Street Fighter: The Legend of ChinLi bad, or Mortal Kombat 2021 bad...

Truth is that we have never had a movie of this kind, and I think it's obvious Nintendo will explore further the Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom plot and story telling style.

Also... it might get full of "easter eggs" with cringe quotes at the worst times... you know, the: "It's dangerous to go alone, take this" or "It's a secret to everybody' or "Kooloo Limpah!".

My initial guess is that the movie will unify all Timelines in a 3 hour story, thus, resorting in details that only those who's played every game will grasp, or it can be something like fricking Twilight (romance story between Link and Zelda) or maybe even something like 90s Peter Pan, with a real actress portraying Navi or another Fairy.

God, there's so many ways this could flop that it's exciting to think and try to predict what could go wrong. It's so delicate.
