Hi

So I managed to buy a used vita with a couple of games and a decent memory card but after close inspection, I noticed a few scratches on the screen like for example, I went to the settings menu since I wanted to change some things but I noticed some scratches than are rainbow-colored (yeah I bad lol) so I guess that means the screen is scratched.

It doesn't mean the Vita is playable but those scratches are gonna drive me crazy so I was wondering if there was any good screen replacements anywhere on the web. If I do manage to get one, will it be hard to replace the screen?

Thanks!

Be sure to check it's not just dirt.
Try take a cleaning cloth (microfiber if you have) and some kind of spray used to clean TV's/computer screens or eye classes.
Spray a little bit on the middle of the screen and wipe all around the screen carefully, make sure you don't get any liquid in any of the speaker holes.

If it really is a scratch, screen protectors can make it seem like scratches are gone.(I recommend Hori screen protector)

If you still want to replace the screen you need to think on that it's close to impossible to replace the screen only since it's fused with the touchscreen.
You would probably have to buy something like this: http://www.consolereparatie.eu/contents/nl/p465_ps_vita_lcdscherm.html

The rainbow effect does not necessarily mean that the screen underneath the plastic panel is in any way scratched. In fact, under certain angles, I'm experiencing it myself and I have a protective screen sticked on, which happens to be the source of the "problem".

It's a matter of how light hits the surface more than anything and chances are that it's just a surface scratch - you may be able to buffer it off, but do so with caution, with the right equipment and as a last resort. ;)

i thought everybody knew cocktails are like 75% ice
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Yeah but not like this.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's not like they're complaining that their Slurpee is 99% ice or something, but if the cocktail calls for "shot of vodka, shot of vermouth, shot of gin, shot of Campari, three shots of juice, squirt of lemon" and ends up being a thimbleful of booze, that's a problem.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the funny thing is cocktails in norway are only allowed to have 1 20ml shot of booze
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    so..... yeah
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
we're used to only having a thimbleful of booze

    Booo.

same thing if you want whisky on the rocks or something, you can't get a double
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but you could buy as many shots of whisky (or anything else) as you want and ask for a glass of ice and pour them in

    it's dumb

    Maybe.

There was a comparison of the number of Ibuprofen poisonings before and after they limited the maximum dosage per box or per pill (i'll look that up). No limit on the number of boxes you can still buy as many as you want, so people argued it was pointless.
  • Veho @ Veho:
But the number of (accidental) poisonings dropped because drinking an entire package of ibuprofen pills went from "I need a new liver" to "I need a new box of Ibuprofen".
  • Veho @ Veho:
Here we have ketoprofen that used to be prescription-only because of the risk of toxic dosages, but then they halved the dose per pill and sell them in bottles of six pills apiece instead of twenty and it doesn't need a prescription any more. Yes you can buy more than one bottle but people simply don't.

Usually accidentally overdose of ibuprofen here is from people taking like cold medicine then ibuprofen for a headache and the combination is over what they need
