Hakchi 2.20 works absolutely fantastic for me. Many SNES games and also Sega Megadrive/Genesis games now added. Anything I throw at it plays, so I am happy. The only thing I now want to add are 3 Metal Slug games, thought to grab my Neo Geo ones (normal version, not CD because of size), but when I add those zip files in Hakchi, it opens a new window with several parts of the rom and it asks me which one I want to select one file.

Never seen this in other emulators I use. Anyone that used some Neo Geo roms yet and what to do? Or chose import as archive, which is the only other option in the pop up?

No you can have as many savegames as you wish. Thousands for each game no matter how many games you have on the system. It will take no space whatsoever. Each with half an hour of rewinding.

Well to be fair, 2.2mb per save state is a lot, hopefully they can be compressed in the future or hopefully rewind can be disabled.

I dont know why people want SNES alpha 2 working so bad.

Its slow, and only Shin Akuma offers any sort of challenge in arcade mode.

Would it not be better to load up the arcade version? I know its a lot bigger in size (14mb) but it probably would work a lot better.
If only we could heavily compress mame and fba roms.

I tried the patch on my SF alpha rom with the matching crc of 9C59DDFF but still get garbled graphics...

Yes because canoe does not emulate the SDD-1.
You need uncompressed GFX Data Paks in order to have the correct GFX.
This way they do not need to divert power to any SDD-1 Emulation.
It was done on SNES9x the same way back in like 2005.
But back then it was not about the recources, it was becuase the compression was not 100% understand at this time.
Today there is proper SDD-1 emulation but that needs more power.

I dont know why people want SNES alpha 2 working so bad.

People always want what is hard or impossible to get...
In this case most get it to run at one point, play it for like 5-10 minutes and then they never look at it again. :D

As you seem to have good tech knowledge about how roms work and run, maybe you know the answer for my question about the Neo Geo roms too? I added a couple of Neo Geo Metal Slug roms, but get a popup with multiple files within the zipped rom and Hakchi asks me which file I want to select. The other option within the popup is install as an archive. Never seen this before, in other emu's or with other systems roms in Hakchi, so I am clueless what to do with the Metal Slugs. And I don't want to do it because it is impossible to get, I just want to play some Metal Slug on my SNES Mini ;-)

Well for Metal Slug you need to install the retroarch cores.
I have not yet installed and used Hakchi2. No time right now.
However, if the game has multiple romfiles in the archive, you should leave it zipped.
In Mame it is like this at least.
Some here have already installed and used the NeoGeo stuff. Somebody should be able to answer that correctly.

Anybody have an idea how to get the controller hacks (reset) working? I can add games but the controller hack just simply doesnt work. Always have to manually push reset. And how to add mods? It wont let me drag & drop them. So i copyed them manyally to the folders and then select the ticks but no luck there either.
Thanks.

Yeah I installed the Retroarch cores (running Megadrive/Genesis through it too), I leave the rom zipped, but Hakchi automatically gives the pop-up when I try to add the zip rom to the games. I have used Mame on several systems and indeed they stay zipped. But Hakchi doesn't allow me to do so with the Neo Geo roms, the pop-up gives me the options: select a file (from the unzipped files that Hakchi shows by itself in the pop-up) or install as an archive. I don't want to bite the bullet to use 'install as an archive' and find out I mess my SNES Mini file system up.

Thanks for your quick reply though, maybe someone else has added Neo Geo roms indeed that is able to tell a bit more!

Try changing the shortcut keys, syncing and then changing them back

To make my question/info complete, see the photo what Hakchi does when I add a zip of Metal Slug to it (got the same roms from several sources now, all react the same with this pop-up, so just the Neo Geo games/zips)
