Hmm, I'd opt for an Xkey.
That way you can carry your backupped games on Live as well.

RGH + Dual NAND is expensive so an Xkey is the best solution.
It allows for backups from a HDD and legit games from the DVD ;]

HI all,

I've about 7 phats in pieces that all need repairs of some sorts, some drive fails, one that can't be repaired but I flashed them all to play backups.

However I bought a slim just over 3 years ago and at the time the only option seemed to be an expensive PCB replacement for it.

With another child due any day i'll be spending more time on the sofa looking after him so I'm going to need something to play, but 95% of my games are copies.

I've been through the first page:

360 Slim (250GB hdd)
MFR = 2011 - 03 - 25
PSU = 12v 10,83A

So that is a trinity system.

Dashboard = 16747

Drive is a Lite-On (FW = 0401)

I don't care about playing online, i have my PC for that. I just want to pop in a burned DVD, load it up and play.

What are my options?

old ones were a case of identifying and removing drive, connecting to motherboard with SATA cable and flashing with jungleflasher (if I remember correctly)

I'd say RGH the system and dump in a bigger HDD.
Copy games to the internal drive and play it from there ;]

So no need to worry about it being a Winbond chip in the drive and the Kamikaze fix?

Any decent links for guides on RGH? I've been out of the loop for 5+ years now and I can't seem to find a decent "guide for idiots" for it

Nop, unless you want to copy the backup DVDs to yer 360.
Then flashing is needed.

So the probe 3 is discontinued/out of stock everywhere?!? Is there another method i can use or can anyone give diagrams for probe 3 so i might rig one up myself?? Ive hacked several wii's and original xbox's but Ive always refrained from doing this to my 360.. Im just getting started with this, Please help

Iirc, the jungleflasher manual comes with instructions to make a Pogo mo thoin probe.

Get a Jasper Elite, those are the easiest to flash.
Slims require some soldering.

Or go for an Xkey, then you can take the Slims no prob (Shiny slim)

i have a xbox 360 phat
MFR 15-01.2009
Dashboard 2.0.16202.0
with Philips liteon DG16D2S ( 2 yellow wires )
150W PSU = Jasper

From what i read i will need a USB PRO + Probe 3.

is this correct or do i have to by anything else?

ive done some hacking on PSP and WII but for the xbox will be the 1st.

Flashing isn't that difficult, RGHing is, it's mostly soldering.
