Forget ODDE or SD or whatever, where do you get a tiny Dreamcast like that? It looks neato.

it is from yujin's history collection. they did nintendo (with a bunch of famicon stuff) and sega mega drive. i've also seen gameboy, playstation, etc, but i'm not sure if they are by the same company. i do believe that the dc opens and can accept miniature discs.

here is the DC for sale: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Yujin-SR-Se...2751?pt=US_Action_Figures&hash=item258b30fa2f

Cool cool cool. The Genesis even comes with a little power base convertor! Too bad they all seem to be pretty expensive, guess I better get on winning that lottery first.

Closer to being on topic, ode is a great step, but we also need to get some way to get VMU saves transfered to and from modern computers. Connecting a third party VMU via a parallel port cable was fine back in the DC's lifetime, but man, it sure sucks in 2014.

I recall you could email saves to a pc and back. Not sure how ways it is to get online with a DC now a days but there are ways

I definitely understand the need for a Dreamcast ODE but why PS2?
For PS2, to avoid using disc requires either USB, SMB, or HDD loading. They all have their cons. USB is speed limited, causing gameplay to be choppy. SMB requires a networking device, either PC or network drive. HDD is limited to PS2 FAT or very early PS2 Slim.

Not to mention that neither of them have the best compatibility. Best compatibility comes from disc loading from ESR loader.

Hmm.. I wonder which games worth playing don't work well from HDD? I have a SCPH-70012 with HDconnect installed and I have yet to find a game that doesn't work pretty much perfectly.

Edit:
Also, just wanted to point out that ESR's compatibility is actually quite poor in comparison to HDD loading with OPL.

Hello.:)

No,there is no Mod.You can use an USB-GD Rom instead.:)

USB-GDROM: This device is more costly, but perhaps easier to order directly from the developer’s web page. USB-GDROM supports USB devices up to 2TB. You can hold the entire Dreamcast collection easily on a single USB stick or HDD. Its easy to transfer files and has no restrictions on folder or file names and even has LongFileName support. One downside, current GUI is very basic looking. USB-GDROM supports only GDI and CDI formats. It also supports both VA0 and VA1 Dreamcast revisions making it more likely to work on your console. Neither USB-GDROM or GDEMU support VA2 Dreamcast models.

One of the identification feature is on the GD-Rom itself:

Remember when RiiShop was a thing?
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
    not really
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
It got shutdown because somebody "accidentally" leaked the database for the amount of people using the beta.

RiiShop is the laziest way of downloading Wii games. Did somebody not think of this through?
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
although i ended up accidentally changing my nand with no way of going back bc i didn't know you needed a gamecube controller to restore it (i have a wii minus/1.1, which doesn't have gamecube controller support)
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@BakerMan, I think you're talking about the recovery mode that the SaveMii used, and also was to restore softbricked systems.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
If your NAND was hardbricked, then just buy another Wii. Or go with the dirty NAND flasher method.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
and if i find the sd card i have my NAND backed up on, i can not only restore the NAND if i solder the right part in, but i can also put my NAND on dolphin, then i can play dolphin online, like PMEX Remix or MKWii Riibalanced

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@BakerMan, Oh yeah, that was a thing too. Dolphin does support Wiimmfi.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
yeah you just need to put your NAND backup with wiimmfi on it
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
ngl i feel like if a bunch of my friends have wiis and know how to get wiimmfi and back up their NAND, then we could do a PMEX Remix tournament

maybe even add UMVC3/DBFZ and make it a biathlon/triathlon
