Does it do GateShark cheats? If it does I may get it just to have a cheaper gateway to research cheats on.
Huh, that would be something useful and would increase its value, I suppose.

I'm gonna check right now. Actually decided to test it today, it boots up just like a gateway with even the same options (EZ Redux Mode/Classic Mode/Format EmuNAND/Restore SAV/Backup SAV/Backup ROM) and buttons (Hold L to stop autoboot, etc). The end option is Firmware Update for when/if they make progress or changes so it'll probably be drag a bin and update. I'll post pics and info in a bit with an edit.
EDIT: So I checked out the EmuNAND.
It uses a 3x2 grid to choose games though it loads a bit slower.
There's no cheat/region choice support or extra options when you're selecting a game.
Doesn't work with the newest firmware.
I can test more stuff, just ask.

huh. No cheats then. No 11.3 support was expected, however.
It seems they were only able to RE an old pre-GateShark launcher.dat.

Honestly they're fucking hopeless, incompetent even, I wouldn't be surprised if the just paid for the fruits of someone else's labor.

There's been no updates since it launched. Clearly they're just leveraging their (previously excellent) branding/reputation and exploiting people's ignorance in effort to make as much money as they can.

It's sad to see they're running their reputation into the ground. I'd still buy one of their GBA carts in a heartbeat, but nothing else, ever.

@SylverReZ, I dislike the kind of drm where you have to play single player games online all the time bc of some verification bs

@Xdqwerty, Don't use games that have Easy Anti-Cheat as its been exploited many times.

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

@SylverReZ, i think they have been doing that since late 2000s

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
Either that or their old games were unfinished aswell but we can't notice it

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I never knew about it at the time but a fixed version was available but you had to mail in your broken copy lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
So that version is semi rare
