Hacking Ez Flash IV micro sd hc?

Was watching a setup video and the person said that micro sd hc didn't work with ez flash iv , and some other tutorials I read said you need to format the microsd card to fat which I can't with this one, can only format it to fat 32 or exfat?

Is there no way to make a micro sd hc card work ? or is it back to radio shack with me

No chance of SDHC working, it needs to be FAT16 (though windows sometimes just calls it FAT).

It's true that only non-hc microSDs will work on it. The highest they went was 4GB, but the non-hc ones were hard to find. And btw, any memory card larger than 4GB requires FAT32, NTFS, exFAT, etc. because FAT(16) can't read past 4GB.

Get a cheap (but not fake!) Kingston JAPAN 2GB. It will hold more than you think.

WELP was thinking of getting it from ebay for cheaper and faster shipping, but you have a good point, might as well buy it from the same place I bought the ez flash

You should see if the US RHS can sell you one. They have them available with flash cart purchases so maybe they will.

For future reference, NEVER buy memory cards from brick and mortar stores unless you can get a deal that is around 75 cents per GB (extremely rare). They rip you off bad!

for the price just buy a mini sd, will save you from problems down the road that often occur from using microsd cards in minisd adapters

Ah, damn. It is very hard finding reliable, reasonably priced miniSDs for it. A few cell phone shops online still have them though but avoid any non-branded or non-packaged ones. Or just take the chance with the microSD/miniSD adapter. I have a miniSD only so I never had a chance to experience the problems that some have had using these adapters, but have with normal SD adapters. You might want to buy a couple more in case the one you have causes problems.
