Hi all,

I have a N3DS updated to the latest firmware and a SKY3DS card. I want to create a private header and I have a few questions.

I understand that its pretty easy to do with Gateway, but unfortunately its not compatible with my system. I've read that I'll need a game and a powersave device. Will these work?

I also plan to use this guide:

Powersaves, and Powersaves Pro are the SAME... They are just marketed for different regions
And yes, steel diver does work

It should work with any game supported by powersaves

if u use the header pull out from diver.
remember change the manufacturer id to C2 when u apply the header to the template

I read somewhere that different manufactures have different headers and that one private header might not work for all games.

Is this true?
no, the header only accept the orignal id, like C2 chip header have to use C2, etc.
as long as the header with right id in the template, is ok.

assume u use diver as resource to pull out header. it's C2 chip
place ur header string into one game template, check the id is C2 or not, if it is, online should be no problem. if is 45 or AE, just change it to C2, then should be fine.

remember change header well lose current game file, change id wont.
with no ban no sky, u patch the header to all game template in the template file quickly; so u only need to check id of the game that u want to play is C2 or not. (most of them are C2, so dont need to worry about id)

for me, this method work like a charm!
hope u can get it work too!

About that, is there actually ANY difference? There's no reason at all to sell them for $10 difference if they're the same.

No, no difference

The reason one is sold higher is because it's imported from the overseas region where it was intended to be sold

It even says on the powersaves site somewhere that they are the same product

I did the same thing you did. The Steel Diver that I got was a sandisk (45). So if you have issues try with that first.

So I was able to create my own private header using Steel Diver. Patched it to the template and installed sSmash Bros. However I got the connection error saying the disk cart was invalid when I tried to go online.

I checked my header and I don;t see a C2, 45, or AE any where in the header. Any suggestions on what I could be doing wrong?

Cycle through your games after correcting the chip mfg. If you write the ROM, change to your private header and write again you have to cycle or you will get the error.

They're assuming all Steel Diver carts used the same manufacturer. This isn't necessarily true, as multiple copies of the same came could have had different chip manufacturers. Almost all the carts are C2.

Given the wild success and demand for Steel Diver, I would imagine all the carts were made in one run for this particular title.

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol

I never knew about it at the time but a fixed version was available but you had to mail in your broken copy lol

So that version is semi rare
