Well, I left my computer on for a while, then forgot about it. When I came back, I found Citra running OoT 3D, farther than I've let it go before. I really don't know how that video was made, it must've taken forever! Maybe it runs faster on better hardware, but still. It's still amazing how well this game works, if speed wasn't an issue, I'd consider it playable. One thing I noticed, looking past the more noticeable graphics problems, is that it seems quite a bit darker then it should be. It may just be my monitor. I also had a problem where input stopped working, which kinda screwed me. It seems to happen when I switch to something else and then switch back.

Screenshots if you want, I didn't want them taking up a lot of space on the thread when there's already a video ;)

QObject::connect: (receiver name: 'PicaFramebuffer')
QObject::connect: No such slot GraphicsFramebufferWidget::OnFramebufferHeightChanged(int)

Wow, I feel kinda dumb right now. I found out that I've been building Citra with debug configuration instead of release. The release build is so much faster than the debug build. I was wondering why my build seemed so slow compared to the video. I know it was 10x speed, but i figured slowing it down 10x it was still much faster than my build. I assumed it was my crappy integrated Intel graphics card, but I guess I was wrong. Now I don't need to leave my computer on for an hour to get past a cutscene :D

I've had that same experience with a program I made.

No, why would I do this, I can just play this on Project 64.

Because once it's playable, it'll be probably the most comprehensive version of the game to play? It may have a lot of the nostalgic glitches removed, sure, but you can't deny it is better than the original in terms of visuals and smoother gameplay (30 FPS vs 20, higher resolution textures and models).

At any rate, it's exciting to watch this emulator grow on a weekly basis.

Add a high res texture pack and 4k resolution and yo have the best OOT experience ever! ^.^

Is Skylake even that much of a leap? Not only that, but the emulator will still need to be optimized.

Well considering that the current generation of Intel CPUs will be two generations old instead of one generation old by the end of this year due to two CPU generations being released at the same time, yes I think it will.

@AncientBoi, Yeah, believe you can do PSP games as well. But a Pi5 is much powerful in comparison.

Not sure about other models of Pi4 but the Pi 4 B with 8GBs OCed to 2Ghz handles PSP really great except like 1 game I found and it is playable it just looks bad lol Motor Storm Arctic something or other.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Other games I can have turned up to like 2X and all kinds of enhancements, Motorstorm hmmm nope 1X and no enhancements lol

Waiting for Anbernic's rg[whatever]SP price announcement, gimme.

I will admit that one does seem more interesting than the usual Ambernic ones, and I already liked those.

    I dread the price point.

  • Veho @ Veho:
This looks like one of their premium models, so... $150 :glare:

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    To me that seems reasonable.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I mean since basically all the games are errmmm free lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean yeah sure but the specs are the same as a $50 model, it's just those pesky "quality of life" things driving up the price, like an actually working speaker, or buttons that don't melt, and stuff like that.

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think all in my Pi 4 was well north of 200 bucks 150ish for the Pi 4 the case the fancy cooler, then like 70 for the 500GB MicroSD then like 70 for the Xbox controller. But honestly it's a nice set up I really enjoy and to me was worth every penny. (even bought more controllers for 2 or 4 player games.) hmmm have never played any 2 player games yet :(
  • Veho @ Veho:
Yeah that's what I hate about the RPi, it's supposedly $30 or something but it takes an additional $200 of accessories to actually turn it into a working something.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
yes that's the expensive part lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean sure it's flexible and stuff but so is uremum but it's fiddly.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Yeah a lot of it I consider a hobby, using Batocera I am constantly adjusting the collection adding and removing stuff, scraping the artwork. Haven't even started on some music for the theme... Also way down the road I am considering attempting to do a WiiFlow knock off lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I want everything served on a plate plz ktnx, "work" is too much work for me.
  • Veho @ Veho:
Hmm, with that in mind, maybe a complete out-the-box solution with all the games collected, pacthed and optimized for me would be worth $150
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Yeah it's all choice and that's a good thing :)
