You can download Luma 7.0.5 and copy its arm9loaderhax.bin to the root of your sd which should make your 3ds bootable.
You can put the files from the old sd to the new one and you should have all your stuff back.
I copied Luma 7.0.5's arm9loaderhaxbin to the root of my sd card but it still doesn't boot. Just a blue light

Your SD card might be corrupted, so it finds arm9loaderhax.bin but can't launch it properly. Try a new SD card or use TeraCopy to make sure it copies over correctly.

If that doesn't help:

Do you have a NAND backup? Put Hourglass9 (the bin file) on the root of your SD card renamed to arm9loaderhax.bin and the NAND backup in the files9 folder. Turn on your SD card and it should go into Hourglass9. Restore your NAND backup.

If you don't have a NAND backup, follow https://3ds.guide/9.2.0-ctrtransfer but substitute the firm file for the bin file of GodMode9

Hmmm. I'll try that but before I do is there anything I have wrong or unnecessary on my sd card?

When you tested your card with H2testw, did you delete everything off it first (after making a backup)? It can't test your whole card unless it is empty. And when it is finished you can format your card to get rid of the test files, then copy your backed up files back.

Hi all
I'm quite new to the 3ds world and have picked up a 2nd hand 3ds.
it is currently 9.9.0-26e

I'm trying to read on here about whats best to do and its blowing my mind.
I'm really not sure what to do in what order.
I guess to use free shop I need to have some kinda CFW
what size memory card would be a good option.

I have tired to read some guides but still not sure what is the best way forward.

any help of tip to get me to where I need to be would be great I don't want to end up bricking anything.

thanks

To get cfw follow https://3ds.guide
The best size of memory card depends about how many games you want to have on it. For me 16gb is enough but some say they need more than 128gb.

Start from the beginning of https://3ds.guide. A 4GB SD card is fine for installing CFW but for games you'll want to have at least 16GB. 8GB is ok if you don't mind deleting games to install new ones (you can hold 2-10 games on an 8GB card). Have a look at the OP for some FAQs and if you have any other questions just ask :-)
