I have two systems.

O3DS 11.2 A9LH and stable luna
N3DSXL 11.2

When I try to do the system transfer I make it to the end of the 1/6 section then I get an error stating no response from the source system. Please check the source system.
Make sure you're systems are close to each other, that both have an active internet connection.

They are.
The first time I tried, they were touching each other about 3 feet away from the router.
The next time I tried, they were on either side of the router.
I am trying again now via pc based transer.

1. No, he won't get his stuff back that way.
2. You can't system transfer from new to old. Only old to old, old to new, or new to new.
Thanks for the reply, I forgot you can't transfer back from new to old, so any work around that you know of? Does he just lose his nnid completely?

Unless you have another system for him to transfer to, then he'll lose it. The only way to move NNIDs between systems is with system transfers, and he'll have to format his system to unlink his NNID. He then can't relink his NNID after the transfer, even if you format it to unlink your NNID. He'll lose it completely unless he can get another system.

Thanks again, so:
If we could get our hands on a N3DS which isn't already linked to a NNID and that person didn't have anything important on it, we could system transfer my friends NNID to the extra N3DS, DSiWare downgrade my friends N3DS, system transfer it back to my O3DS then system transfer my friends NNID from the extra N3DS back to his N3DS and he should keep his stuff?
(hope that makes sense).

You can't system transfer from new to old, remember? If you want your NNID back on your system again, you'll have to call Nintendo and make up a reason as to why they should move the NNIF back to your system.

Sorry, call nintendo and say something like I lost my N3DS to have the NNID reattached to my O3DS, then system transfer my friends NNID from the extra N3DS back to his N3DS?

I messed up the downgrade process.
I did a system transfer from an O3DS A9LH to a N3DSXL.
I formatted the N3DSXL without the memory card in it, thinking I could remove the NNID that way.
Now I can't continue with the downgrade process.

If I delete the NNID on the 1st DS and put a different account on it, will I be able to do another system transfer before the 7 days are up?

There is nothing you can do to bypass the 7 day wait. The transfer is tied to the system, not the NNID. And all system transfers are on Nintendo's servers. You can't do anything except for wait.

@Xdqwerty No you heard wrong, and don't believe till you experience yourself. Fallout 4 is one of my favorite games of all time. Yes it had issues early on, esp with older hardware like the xbox1, but it is awesome, esp now being 4k on Series S/X or PS5

@BigOnYa, Then i think people were talking about fallout 76
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    that one was buggy too
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Yea you right there, fallout 76 was a letdown, but it not that bad now, they have fixed slot of issues they had at launch. Biggest issue with Fallout 76 is its a pay to advance further type of game, which sucks
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@BigOnYa, I may probably download fallout 3 or new vegas on my ps3
