It was the day before it came out.
You couldn't get it anywhere else.
You just don't know where to look. I got a copy from the actual leak instead of a guy who rehosted it on a survey site. The game leaked 4 days early in the US and about 24 hours early in Japan.

Yeah, there were many videos and they all pointed to that site
There's a lot of videos on YouTube pointing to 3dsemulator.com or linking to a page full of ads that link to 3dsemulator.com. It doesn't make it any more real. People make $.05-$.10 per pageview, and getting a ton of gullible kids to view it can easily net them hundreds of dollars a day.

5 to 10 cents a pageview? that doesn't sound very accurate. From experience, it's more like 5 to 10 cents per thousand pageviews >_<' (possibly more depending on various factors but $.05-$.10 per thousand pageviews sounds much more accurate than per page view -_-)

The point is, they're making money off of every gullible person that clicks the link. Not to mention on that page there are 5 or 6 ads along with 2 or 3 popup windows. Eventually it starts adding up, especially if they have porn websites advertised. From what I've heard, they offer much more.

So many people wanted to get their hands on a rom of Japanese BW2 that the 2ch.net administrator linked to a website that ousted IP addresses of people who clicked the link (some 4chan users were posting racial slurs on the board and then demanding the rom.) I discovered how the site worked, and posted it to 4chan and within seconds, there were hundreds of people who tried to download it. Not to mention the ones that had been using the 2ch admin's link. Someone with a spam website requiring a survey to continue to lmgtfy.com can easily make money that way.

Jeez.... Pokefload. It always gets ugly... Especially combined with kids who are willing to break the law to get it ASAP XD I really hope that when a publicly usable program comes out that uses the exploit wont be crashing GBATemp. Wonder if there would be a way to limit public awareness of the hack release.

Though I honestly doubt it was the real Xeno. AFAIK they have NEVER released any of their releases through such means. They are waaay more hush hush about those. Plus iirc their "release" was the same as the others that is in circulation, which is not Xenophobia.
I can vouch that it was them. Considering I got the working rom from them too. Protected by a survey. Killed the survey using Ipod.

Hmm that is certainly odd and unlike Xeno. But I'll take your word for it.

EDIT: I just checked DS-Scene. Apparently the ones we all have are not regarded as official Xenophobia rips as they are not given proper ID #s. But w/e. Official or not, it's playable either way.

Tell me this: How is it a scam if we bypassed the survey (therefore we disabled it using adblock) and got the working rom a day before the others? LOL

The survey itself is a scam. This time around someone linked to a proper file, but it just as well could have been a virus. That's like saying the mouse got the cheese from the mousetrap without setting it off, so it's not a trap.

Dude, that's my point.
The survey ITSELF IS a scam. NOT the site hosting the rom, which was BLOCKED by the survey, which you had to BYPASS! If you don't get the survey in the first place (because it was disabled), then no you weren't scammed.

Start: 3DS Hacking Discussion and Speculation.
Now: The legitimacy of a Pokemon White 2 ROM, and the website it was from.
Later: Spiderman.

Well, there's your problem
