did you get your device yet?, if so i was wondering if you were able to launch the device on version 6.00?

The device allows for reading and writing 3DS save data with a PC via USB connection. Does work with latest firmware. It is just like the R4i save dongle, but made by Datel. You can use it to backup your saves, as well as using their "Powersaves", or by modifying your own save. Animal Crossing New Leaf and Pokemon X/Y are so far unable to be detected by device.

Yeah, it works and I have received the US key from Datel. Can also use it to backup saves as well. Unable to detect Animal Crossing and Pokemon X/Y

Have you tested the software with saves created by Gateway 3DS? It would be interesting to check if those could be altered as well. In case you haven't, I could lend you a couple of save files.

I could try it probably, what games are the Saves for? Any for Animal Crossing or Pokemon X?

I uploaded my save file of Fire Emblem Awakening (U), it is named after the hex ID of the game (that's how GW name the files). Could you check it in the Power Saves software? and if it works, could you add x99 "Wedding Bouquet" to my items for me if possible, please? :P

So does this thing actually decrypt the saves? It seems weird that they'd have "powersaves" if they haven't decrypted the save format...

For the majority, probably not. It might have a game save of say where it has 99 wedding bouquets but everything else about the save sucks like if it has nearly every char dead etc. In a game like Fire Emblem, having dead chars is a major problem in that instance.

Wait, what?

Either the save will work or it won't, I'm not talking about what the actual save contains. If they're able to take a save made with a different game card than yours, and make it run on your game card, they obviously know how to decrypt the saves...

It uses a save database, that means your overwriting your save with someone else's. For games that it has save editing capabilities over, then you can edit the save directly.

Are you sure you ever used a real cheat device like the action replay and the "load a save" feature? Sorry but if your only experience with cheats is through a flashcart, your likely missing out on a few things.

Um, I could be asking you the same thing.

3DS uses encrypted save files, making it the first Nintendo handheld to do so. There was already a database for the R4i save dongle - however, 99% of those saves are completely useless because nobody has figured out the encryption, and as such it will just say your save is corrupted and erase it.

Yes and no. There are plenty of games where the simple XOR decryption works.

The actual number is not 99%.

The XOR decryption only works for games requiring firmware less than 2.x (I forget the exact revision)

That's only a very small number of launch titles. Nothing like Fire Emblem is in that group.

The majority of saves on R4i's site are for games too new to work with XOR decryption. I've tried them myself and they don't work. I know it's not *actually* 99%, that was an exaggeration.

There are quite a few games from the majority of saves that fall outside of the R4i dongle decryption abilities that are editable by cheat devices like this. The reason and motive for this is profit for the makers of cheat devices like this. They don't have any incentive to share that info with people if those said people will not buy their cheat device.

All I was asking is if Datel figured out the newer save encryption. All we know how to do is the simple XOR encryption which works on a very small amount of games, and certainly not any of the more popular titles.

Whatever games Datel and others manage to decrypt is basicaly not being shared with the R4i save database. Having a R4i dongle doesn't entitle you to anything from Datel or the others, even if the those cheat devices are based off the R4i dongle.

Yes, but GBATemp is a hacking community, so if Datel has figured it out, you can bet we'll try to reverse engineer whatever they put out. At least until it's common knowledge.

@The Real Jdbye, I thought about that and I have blank DVD's and Blurays but honestly after like 90 songs I just listen to it a couple of hundred times toss it out and burn something else or have like 2-3 CD's. Florida here the heat in the car tends to ruin the CD's after like a few months even commercial pressed ones don't last too long.
