Yes of course it did that is how you load up roms to your system, if the USB was only for power there would be no way to upload roms on the NES Mini without a hardware mod.
yeah but Nintendo said you wouldn't be able too. Yet they made it a USB connection for power supply and I believe the snes mini uses same type of power supply. Which would make it possible to do the this same stuff to the snes.

Cluster,

The new kernel appears to not reboot the NESCE after sync...light turns off just after sync and stays off. Didn't happen before 2.17d (and flashing the newer custom kernel).

EDIT: Never mind - restored to factory and rebuilt and all is well. Think I was screwing around with it a bit too much lately. ;)

I revised my Bios Module Set (New-Neo, Non-Neo, Old-Neo). I was able to cut it down to about half the size of the previous ones. I also updated and replaced several files in the set. One nice bonus to this...Some of you may have noticed that sound was not too good in GBA games. By injecting the true GBA Bios into my Bios Module, and allowing MGBA, VBA Next, etc, to use it...Sound is "much better". I also updated Bios for Turbografx-CD, so that there is support for even more games:) You can read on the status of my Turbografx-CD Project, within the v2.5 Update:) Finally, I also made sure all pertinent Bios Files md5 hashchecked as they were expected to. Some Bios are "optional". But, there are times when these are necessary to use. I plan on doing a video doing a Bios Overview within the next few days, to better clarify things on this front! As far as Bios Module and Core Updates...I will post the Newly Updated & Revised Set, tomorrow! I may include yet another core that hasn't been done on the Mini before, if I have time to test it a little more!

Cave Story Nxengine had a "in game save" bug. So, I rolled that back to 8-5-17. Get the proper Core from my Mega HMOD Thread. Expect the entire set to be updated, yet again...tomorrow:)

I've been doing some fixing on my mini, replacing Contra, as that was starting to give me C7 errors. Suddenly, it popped into my head that there was an issue with the updated SNES9x2010 save state size....is that correct ? If so, what version should I put on the mini ?

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but, there's no way that will all fit. You have about 300MB or so of space for ROMs, box art, save states and cores. Even with perfect compression you couldn't get half as much as you listed without hard modding some additional storage into it.
KMFDManic has some excellent techniques with videos on compressing everything to get as much as possible on the system.
If you really want to fit all that onto one device, I'd suggest getting a raspberry pi and a PS3/4 controller.

There is no issue with saves with the 2010 in my set. That issue hasn't existed for a very long time now.

ah. cool. Now the only real issue I have is not being able to have screen curvature....which I heard isn't possible. Other than that, I love the mini. Hopefully, the SNES classic will be able to be hacked like this. I love the games that are going to be on it, but I'd like to add Chrono Trigger and a couple of others.

Hi guys! Made a brand new video tutorial, since I noticed I'm getting alot of questions still regarding adding games to the Famicom Mini using hakchi2. You can view the video here:

been playing some Contra after getting a version that doesn't give me C7 errors.....Is it just me, or is Contra a LOT harder then you remember it being from when we were kids ?

Heh, I can beat Contra with minimal effort. But, I have played it quite a few times. I speedrun the first level, literally, here:)

Do some of the English translated roms and other hacks work? Is there a list of compatible roms and hacks floating around?
Just wanna know before I order a Famicom mini
