It's not really a problem, you can just install oot3dhax for 10.3 via themehax.

Pretty much.
Just run oot3dhax installer

Will have to delete all your saves in oot3d beforehand though. And you can't have any save files on the game while you have the hack.

I used a 10.1 New 3DS to install OOThax for a 9.9.0.26-U old 3DS. I followed this tutorial exactly, and everything seemed to work... until I went to launch the hax. It got all the way to the final red bottom screen then froze. What did I do wrong?

Never mind. I'm such an idiot. I forgot to put the **** SD card back in.

Question... do I have to load OoT everytime I want to use homebrew? I know, retarded question

Also, what is the difference between entering the eshop via Homebrew and entering normally? I'm new into the 3DS homebrew thing so I would like some advice

You can.
Have yo be careful you are doing the right thing though, but if you are already on oot3dhax *hax 2.5 for 10.1, just download the otherapp payload for 10.3 on smea's website, name it payload.bin and put it on your SD card. Then you can go in svdt, delete the payload on yoir cartridge with (X), then copy over the 10.3 payload.bin with (Y)

Naturally, it won't work anymore until you actually update to 10.3

Technically, do you even need to manually download the new payload from Smea's site and
put it in your root to install if you already have a 2.5 version hax installed already? I mean also if you still
have the installer files from the current OoT hax and you have a way to the Homebrew Browser,
doesn't the OoT hax installer automatically install the most current payload via wireless
if you are connected to the internet? I thought it says that in the installer.

The HomeBrew Browser supports sleep mode now so no. If you want to stay in the Homebrew Browser you can. So long as you don't power off or play another retail app/game.

The E-shop on HBB is for going to the E-shop without actually updating to current firmware (though you would still get the nag if you were off HBB and tried to log on through normal access.) This I would think is obsolete though since HBB works on 10.3 now. I'm open to a second opinion for any reason though. ^^

I have a problem in the 6º-7º steps. When I Try to install and the installer tries to download the payload it fails. I can get the payload from the Hombrew web, but I don't know where to paste it or if that would work. Can anyone help me, please?

rename the file "payload.bin" (without quotes) and put it in the root of your memory card

I just tried that but it says exactly the same. Can it be that my 3DS is updated? I am using Old 10.3.0 28E
Since you have access to Homebrew Launcher from another method already, might be simpler to copy files over to your OoT3D cartridge via svdt.

https://github.com/phase/oot3dhax_installer/releases/download/v1.2/oot3dhax_installer.zip

This installer should work. If it doesn't, get the save0x.bin.eur from the archive, rename it to save00.bin, then download the payload for OLD 10.3.0-28E from smea's website. Rename it payload.bin
Start up svdt, select your OoT3D. Delete any save files you may have on the game (using d-pad to navigate over to the left side and pressing (X) to delete), then go back over to the right side, find the save00.bin and payload.bin you got earlier, and copy them over to your OoT3D.

This is what your OoT3D should look like in svdt:

save00.bin
payload.bin
system.dat

Delete -everything- but system.dat (I think it works fine without it, but I've always kept it there just to be sure), then copy save00.bin and payload.bin over to your OoT3D cartridge. If you have any saves other than the *hax save00.bin or the system.dat file when you try to copy payload.bin over, svdt will fail and force-quit.

Because I felt like it I went and got the right payload for your 3DS and the European oot3dhax save file, renamed to save00.bin and payload.bin for your convenience. Copy those over to your SD card and write them to your OoT3D game after having manually deleted every save file on the cartridge.

This worked perfectly. Thank you for your help. ^^

One question, if I may: is there a way to have both the hacked save and my own at the same time? I mean, each one in a separate save slot. That way, I could both use the game as an entry point and to play it normally. Or am I asking too much?

If you have an actual cartridge of OoT3D, you can't, unfortunately, because there isn't enough save space. There's enough for one save file and the payload, but it takes up pretty much all the available space.

With ninjhax 2.1, you could, because the payloads were 36KB, so there was still space for another save file, but since 2.5 the payloads are 42KB, which doesn't leave you with enough space.

If you had the digital version from the eShop, you would be able to do that, because the digital version has access to more space for saves.

I see, it makes sense. But in the OoThax installer I've seen an option to install the hax save in any desired save slot of the game. Or was that for another thing?

It's just so it can be installed on save #1, save #2 or save #3 depending on the user's personal preference :P save slot 1 is what people usually pick, though.

Not a very usefull option then, I think. Thanks for explaining that to me and again for the help. ^^

Doing this tomorrow on someone else's 3DS.

Is it enought having latest starter kit file? Is any other homebrew app required?

Is it mandatory to delete save files using the combination of buttons or just to let homebrew app to overwrite/delete all?

I don't think the installer deletes the save files for you. You should do it on your own first.
