I really don't care about kernel access anymore. If I want to I could just get a sky3ds. Piracy is already a thing. smea isn't stopping anything by keeping everyone in userland mode. I'll just buy a sky3ds for backups and use ironhax for homebrew. Only difference is I have to pay money for sky3ds and ironhax is free. Anything that doesn't run on the 3ds I have a PSP for.

It's like trying to stop people from using guns. If they have the will, they'll find a way to get a hold of one regardless of what any law says.
smealum (and yellows8?) doesn't want to be the one releasing the kernel exploit, or the tools to do so. He doesn't really care if people pirate in their private life or use kernel hacks, just doesn't want to be associated with it.

I know. Earlier in the thread, I said that I'd be waiting for somebody else to release a kernel exploit. Thanks to the work smea does, that becomes more and more possible every day. So he is associated with it, either directly or indirectly depending on how you want to look at it.
So what are you trying to argue? That smea should stop trying to keep everyone in userland? I don't think that's what he's doing, he's just not releasing the tools to get more permissions than userland.

I'm not arguing anything. I'm saying the work he does is going to make piracy even more easier to accomplish. Without the need for any extra hardware ie flashcarts.

The only thing smea cares about (as far as I know) is not being the one releasing a kernel exploit.

You started it in the first place. But whatever, I don't really care. xD
