Sort of, but Hiren's BootCD is severely outdated, and I almost included it in my release. But the other tools on my DVD already do what Hiren's CD does, are more up to date, and easier to use... So it just seemed redundant.

hey,
i understand that replacing hiren is the point of the whole thing, however some things that hiren contains don't really have equivalents in medicat, for example lubuntu is quite empty upoon boot compared to the partition magic distro that is within hiren, including GSmartControl, Clonezilla, SpaceFM window manager and so on...

the parted magic distro is now a commercial product so of course it isn't included in any other all-in-1 tools, but all the softwares are opensource anyway so they could be included in your lubuntu or something, watcha think?
also Hiren allows to choose the keyboard disposition prior to run the distro, that's useful for non-querty locations ;)

Use the "Unlisted ISO (GRUB)" option in the bottom of the list. :)
Thanks :) Will test it later, forgot my flash drive at work lol.

[EDIT] I tested it and nothing, it says installing but finishes in a second and the only file on the flash is a menu.lst file. Im using a FAT32 partition.

[EDIT2] Ok, flashed my usb drive as a NTFS so it's copying over the iso file now. Will test later and post results.
[EDIT3] Ok, with grub it just copies the ISO straight over so switching to ntfs fixed the issue, unfortunately unlisted Grub does not work either as it complains about vesamenu.c32 not working. replacing the files does not fix the issue, i used a previous posters changed.zip file

Hi,

I used Rufus to create bootable USB key but usb key boot directly on the mini windows 10, I can't have the boot menu.
Do you have an idea or requirement to create USB bootable key ?
Thank you

The boot menu doesn't come with the standalone Mini Windows 10, just the main MediCat DVD.

I haven't made a list, but I will be for this next release. Mini Windows 10 will be based on Redstone 2. The changelog should give you an idea of a few things that come with it for now. (I'm in the shower, so I can't get to my PC.)

No worries I was just curious, thanks for the hard work!

Just wanted to report that the Mini Windows 10 Redstone 2 (Creator's Update) build is coming along nicely. I have integrated many Wi-Fi drivers for Intel, Linksys, Ralink, Realtek, Atheros, and Broadcom chipsets to help get you online faster. (Used the latest drivers from driverpacks.net)

I have been working on MediCat pretty-much non-stop this weekend. This release has been more of a refinement and a bug hunt, but still brings updated applications and a few new things to the table without much further bloat. Now... I haven't turned a blind eye towards MediCat about how much it's grown in file size... I have also seen a massive decline in systems with optical drives over the last few MediCat releases, and have come up with an ideal solution. Going forward, MediCat DVD will be known as MediCat USB. I have squashed many of the boot entry bugs that plague USB users that get dumped at a blinking grub prompt. I have also gotten rid of a few redundant menu entries and duplicated software. Hardware Detection Tool is present on the UBCD for example, so I made the choice to remove the unnecessary menu entry from the Diagnostics menu. You can still run HDT under SYSTEM > Hardware Detection Tool V0.5.2 from the UBCD. I've also removed MediCat FreeDOS, since it just blinks for an eternity when it shouldn't, and UBCD has FreeDOS that actually boots right without causing seizures. I'm working very hard to bring you all the best I can possibly muster this October 23rd. I will not be releasing a beta this time, since I've conquered the biggest bugs. I have also spent extensive hours fine-tuning the menus and creating all-new artwork.

I thank you all for your love and support all these years. Now Let's make PC repair great again!

Here is the finalized main menu theme for MediCat USB v17.10 beta, heavily inspired by "a popular turf-war game" (without using any copyrighted assets).

I would be wary with offering a precise/exact release date. Regardless, thank you for your work.
I literally have to release that weekend. It's just after the Ubuntu/Lubuntu release, and gives me a few days to finish up the final ISOs. I also have an anime convention I'm attending the following weekend, and that will be stressful enough without MediCat to worry about.
