is sighax superior to bootstrap 9? is there a tutorial for sighax? thanks.

im using plailects guide to update to boot9strap, im at the part where i have to go into godmode 9, but i cant launch the chainloader menu by holding start

Damn. This is good... Is this process as dangerous as the first batch of a9lh was at the beginning?

I don't think anyone who has followed the guide has bricked. The installation process is simple (it just has to write the firm to the correct spot in NAND).

boot9strap is an implementation of sighax, so I have no idea what you are asking.

Put GodMode9.firm in your /luma/payloads folder.

Should be completely safe. Just be sure to use 3ds.guide to install boot9strap

Nope. It took most people like 5 minutes, and I have yet to see a brick. Worst that's happened that I can tell is that some people didn't put everything on the SD card correctly and had to go back to the guide to find out where things went.

The only bricks so far are from people who use derrick's installer rather than the installer from the guide.

Boot9strap is an open source, community implementation of sighax and is superior to derrick's sighax. Specifically derrick's sighax doesn't have any safety checks and there have been several bricks.

The boot time is like 3 seconds faster, but I remember hearing it's more risky because it installs directly to the 3DS, whereas boot9strap just installs to the SD card ftmp, so it'd be waaaay easier to fix. That and I don't think too many people have had much luck with the Sighax installer.

I'v just use the 3ds.guide for boot9strap, quite honestly.

If you have to have Sighax though, you can find it at www.sighax.com.

Edit: No wait the boot is 3 seconds faster on A9LH than Boot9strap, and Sighax is slightly faster, but it's not worth the risk.

11.4.0-37U Old 3DS XL & Old 2ds both updated to Boot9Strap in like 5 mins so easy o.o even for me ..

Also both my Luma Splash screens are not working now ... unsure why ..
Plus the both Systems seem a tad faster O.O..

try going into Luma config and enable splash screens

Ahh thank God... Yeah, cuz once I tried inputting button combinations with GM9 to see what the different permission levels looked like, but unlike this, no buttons were shown for the unlocking sequence. Thx!

You can but I would back them up to your computer if you have any interest in doing things like decrypting cias or encrypting dectitlekey.bin on your computer rather than needing to do it on your 3ds. Though even if you do delete them you can always just dump them again by holding down a certain key combination (start+select+x, I think) during boot.
