So basically 11.3 is the end? I know sighax can be easily installed with hardmod but I'm speaking of softmod here.
as @addi33 already said above dsiware hax can be used if you have a second already hacked 3ds, and obviously there is always the posibilty of new discoveries down the line, sighax is still an amazing thing if anyone ever manages to pull it off as it means that all 3ds consoles (it unlikely they will make a new console revision this late in the life cycle) will always be hackable forever albeit via hard mod's even if no other software exploits are ever found

but yeah never say never when it comes to roadblocks

I can feel the ones stuck with ofw 11.3 - I remember those times back in may - December 2016 when a9lh on 11.0 was impossible. I had almost given up but safehax was the gamechanger. Hopefully 11.3 is broken soon. At least by a few months. Possibly even a year. Good luck people!

very unlikely to get a new arm9 exploit, since there was no new one in 11.X it was just the old one from 9.2 which could also be used exploiting SAFE_FIRM , all we get for 11.3 are an arm11 khexploit and sighax through dsiwarehax/hardmod

Don't you bother. We WILL get one. It may take years, but it WILL happen. Think optimistic.

nope. The fix for firmlaunch-hax was only applied to NATIVE_FIRM in 9.5.0-X, leaving SAFE_FIRM exploitable. With ARM11-kernel execution, one can trigger FIRM-launch in to SAFE_FIRM, do Kernel9 <=> Kernel11 sync, PXI sync and then repeat the original attack on SAFE_FIRM instead.

Ripped from 3dbrew. But yeah, let's just see what happens. Predictions won't help.

You see I didn't wanna risk hardmod, plus I have no good friends to ask for a hacked 3ds - cause none give a shit 'bout Nintendo and stuff. You got your doubt resolved.
if you find somone who is doing medium good at soldering/a store that mods consoles there is no actual risk, in worst case simply replace the motherboard

Motherboard replacement & simple?
well you can bring it to a store and tell them, hey can you please replace this handhelds motherboard cause I have no clue how to do that, heres the cnsole, and here's the ordered motherboard, or whatever, but anyways, if somone fails to solder to your nand chip then yeah he is a) not really good at soldering B) not really concentrated on what he is doing

    @Xdqwerty, Nice. Which operating system are you installing?
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    @SylverReZ, windows 10 and some linux distro like linux mint

    dualbooth
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    @Xdqwerty, Yeah, I'd recommend having another OS just in-case you want to play games.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    At least Linux doesn't contain spyware than what Windows has.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    @SylverReZ, cuz of lag?
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    @Xdqwerty, No. Whenever you use the internet on Windows, Microsoft collects personal data and installs bloatware that isn't necessarily needed, such as Edge.

    @SylverReZ,
    I recall @impeeza mentioned some trick about not having bloatware when installing windows where you set up your country to "world" or smh like that

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    Yes, you can debloat the operating system, but in some cases for me it just reinstalls them.

    @SylverReZ,
    I also recall my brother downloded a "non bloated" version of windows 11 on his pc

  • impeeza @ impeeza:
    @Xdqwerty yes, when you are installing Windows on the first steps you are asked for your current location, you MUST to select «international» so no bloatware is installed, because the bloatware is location based. if this night I have some time I will setup a VM and take screenshots.

    I think my favorite one was that dancing purple gorilla... I uninstalled that thing from sooo many machine people would be like "Why is my computer so slow?" lol because this thing is using like 30% of your system resources.....

    This one lady... her son kept installing Kazaa... OK no problem the issue is he would download DBZ movies and they where amazing usually like 2-8KB in size lol can't remember how many times I had to format and reinstall windows over his stupidity. I even explained to him about file sizes multiple times...
