When tweaking the controller .ini files, is it possible to have two different buttons representing the Z button? For example, would it be possible to set up the L1 button on a PS3 controller to function as Z as well as the default R1 button? I have the input code for the L1 button, but I don't how to have multiple values for one button. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Nintendont in vWii booted from HBL on WiiU menu by hbl2hbc = a great combo!

Next thing I will test is the Gamecube Controller Adapter with 4 x Konga Bonga bongo's which I just purchased 2nd hand including 3 original bongo games. I bet that will be just as popular as Guitar Hero at a drunk gameparty ;-)

Anyone that uses the bongo controllers on Nintendont with the Gamecube Adapter yet?

So, as of version 4.436 is USB HDD functionality still known to be problematic? I set this up the other day and was racking my brain and searching the web for hours and hours trying to figure out why I couldn't get things to work with a USB HDD (btw games load fine from my SD card). I eventually found a few posts that discussed something to do with USB HDD properties being changed as of v2.230. The OP mentions I should try v2.229, but no link was provided, and I can't find a copy online.

Some background: I've tried 3 different USB drives... a 750GB Seagate Momentus, a 320GB Hitachi, and a 128GB Lexar USB flash drive. All 3 drives were formatted to FAT32 with 32k clusters and were each set up with one primary & active partition. The two HDDs were put into a Velocity (Memory Express brand) USB 3.0 external enclosure and connected to the bottom / outer-most USB port on the Wii. The enclosure and the drives work just fine for loading Wii games via USB Loader GX, so I don't think there is any problem with the enclosure or HDD partitions themselves.

However, when it comes to GameCube games, it's a different story. Nintendont sees the HDDs and the games stored on them just fine. (And yes, the games have been placed under the proper folders and all named to 'game.iso'.) However, when I try to open a game, the screen goes black and the hard drive light starts to blink like crazy as if it's accessing files. I've left this for 20+ minutes but the screen remains black and the HDD continues to be constantly accessed. As I mentioned above, these problems don't occur on my SD card, and everything is set up exactly the same way on the SD.

It's a bit of a different story for the Lexar USB flash drive; if I have 15 games or less loaded on the drive, then everything works fine. However, if I load 16 or more games onto it, then problems occur. First, Nintendont (and other apps) no longer show up in the Homebrew Channel. If I take the drive back to my PC and run a checkdisk on it, then all of a sudden the apps show up again. However, when I try to load one of the newly-added games in Nintendont, it hangs when trying to create the virtual memory card for the new game (I've tried 59 and 251 memory card sizes to no avail). I've re-formatted the drive a couple of times and even ran a surface scan which came back 100% healthy. Maybe Nintendont can't handle USB flash drives that are as large as 128GB?

Any help would be appreciated. I will happily provide more details upon request.

Cheers,
Visor

nintendont is very picky with format stuff specialy if you have partitions and such, on my hdd i never had a single issue some for some people, other peoples cant get their hdd working its very wierd and all i can say its probably the hdd or enclosure, one user here add problems with acrapload of hdds and then he chnages the enclousre and all his hdds worked like a charm after the new enclosure, so yeah its sometimes very wierd.

Woo-Hoo! I got things working! I ended up cannibalizing my wife's enclosure (a Vantec NexStar) and Nintendont was finally able to load my games. Thank you so much for the suggestion; I probably would've gotten to trying another enclosure sooner or later, but I'm happy that it's sooner. :)

need some clarification. i have a wii with component cables and nintendont v4.435

every time i start most games they ask me if i want to use progressive scan mode. is this normal?
the progressive scan patch option seems to not work or maybe i'm misunderstanding is use.

it is normal, you should only use progressive patch for games that dont normaly support progressive, there isnt a point forcing hacked progressive over true progressive if the game has it.

Not sure if this has been covered, but I have a couple of issues with Nintendont. The first and most annoying is that when I run Nintendont through HBC it will recognize my Wiimote with Classic Controller, but if I run a Gamecube game through USB Loader GX the game loads just fine, but the controller isn't recognized. Is there a way to fix this? Anyone have suggestions on what are the best controllers to use with a regular Wii with Nintendont to give best quality and best compatibility? I'd rather not use wired controllers.

My other question is whether or not there is a GUI somewhere that allows me to assign buttons in Nintendont or does all of this have to be done through a config file? If a config file is necessary then is there a quick FAQ on how to set it up?

Last question is that some have reported getting Wavebird GC Controllers to work with Nintendont, but I haven't had any luck. Any quick and easy way to do this?

Thanks in advance.

Edit: Just realized I posted this in a Wii U forum when my question pertains to a regular Wii with Gamecube ports. Do I need to post in another thread?

usbloader gx forces some settings on nintendont that you need to change in usbloader gx, make sure native is set to off and maxpads is set to 4 on usbloader settings, also to use the wavebird just activate it on nintendont menu and then choose the game with it, amke sure you insert it on port 1 of the gc ports not port 4, and only hid controller have custom configs with files all other controllers have hardcoded configs that you would need to recompile nintendont to change them.

Thanks for the help. Got the Wii Classic working through usbloader GX with gamecube games, but still not sure how to activate wavebird. I don't see a setting in Nintendont to activate a controller.

That worked! So if I want to use a Wavebird or regular Gamecube controller then I'll need to boot directly through Nintendont and not through usbloader gx?

Thanks for the responses.

for the wiiu gc adapter and other controllers to exit nintendont you simply press the home button, there si no need ofr a exit combo like the gc controller since we have extra buttons lol.

The Wii U GameCube adapter uses regular GameCube controllers so there is no "Home" button. Besides he wants to SHUTDOWN the console.
