But the issue he proved is exactly that, that the signal is weak.
If it is weak it can be blocked by human tissue, and also bothered by stronger signals in the same frequency range.

True.. But that's bluetooth 4.0+ in general. This isn't something exclusive to the joycons. Even my DS4 and Steam link controller do the same things. At least the DS4 does when connected to the PSTV.

Well, I've seen that happening with Bluetooth 4.0+ a lot actually.
If I happen to have my phone on my jacket's pocket, and I put my hand inside the pockets also (because it is fucking cold), my headphones start to skip. Typical BT4.0+ problem.

Yeah. I mean this is a -really- sucky problem that I hope can be solved with an update to either boost the power to the Wii U's bluetooth adapter, or the Joycons.

However, like I said, despite what many people are trying to say, this is not Nintendo skimping on tech, this is an inherent problem with BT 4.0+

I mean.. I can only imagine the whining if they went with BT 3.0 instead.

Funny if someone did a classic "mobile phone" test. That would say put a mobilephone down more or less infront of the devices reciver (the switch in this case) and blast the phone with both bluetooth, wifi and mobile signals all at once. Almost no devices manage to break through that firewall of information flowing. (This is actually one way I do to get better reception with my wi-fi devices, well on the 2.4GHz band that is... thank god for stupid ISPs still keeping their costumer routers on 2.4GHz still....)

Actually I have very similar problems with My Pokemon Go Plus which is BT 4.0 as well.

And though this is a serious problem.... I love this because it's giving me a reason to research this stuff which is fun!

BT 4.0 is lowpowered, that's the problem. You more or less need BT 4.1 to fix that problem.

EDIT: Sorry, 4.0 can be upgraded to 4.1 if the manufactour wants to. Since it will use a whole range more channels.

I really don't think boosting the power to the Wii U's Bluetooth adapter is going to help the Switch. I could be wrong. Nintendo did say the Switch wasn't supposed to replace the Wii U.

So don't stick it in your butt when playing. Don't cusp it with both hand... simple.

While that is the general idea... it's a -bit- more complicated like that. While within about 6 feet, it won't be a problem at all, but past that the low power of BT 4.0+ any interference at will star to become a larger and large issue.

That does suck, though it is common with the Wii as well.

@BigOnYa My dad recently bought a spare Series X off of me, got game pass, and saw Madden '24 on Game Pass, decided to try it out.

@K3Nv2 He was looking into consoles for his house anyway (for my younger siblings and himself) and I had a spare XSX and Switch I ended up selling him at pretty steep cuts. I would just give them to him, but I did buy them with the intent to sell them... and college is super expensive.
