Hello. I like playing my games on my Wii through the Configurable USB Loader MOD patched and wondered if it's possible to change how the Wii logs the play history. I know this is minor, but I'd prefer to see the games names instead of "USBLoaderCFG".

I had a hunch it might be possible if I somehow could create a "channel shortcut" to a game, but the only related thing I could find was the Homebrew app "Mighty Channels", which seems long forgotten (Overview, GBAtemp Thread).

Any help would be appreciated.

No. The only loader that can update the message board currently is USB Loader GX.

Thank you for your quick reply. I tried USB Loader GX out now and I actually like it, but the Wii registers it as "Homebrew Channel", as if I didn't start any Homebrew at all. Is there a setting I have to make? Or do I have to create a Channel shortcut? Thank you in advance.

I think it's under "Loader Settings". There is an option called "Wii Messageboard Update".

Thank you. It's in the Options under Features, "Messageboard Update". Unfortunately, every game shows up as "Others" in the play history. I guess only the developers of USB Loader GX can help me now.

Edit: After looking in the USB Loader GX Thread around a little, I found this post which explains the function properly. I just wanted to mention that the "Return to" setting was disabled for me by default, so that's not the issue.

I've been looking into forwarders for USB Loader GX and was curious if one exists for the NES and SNES and Nintendont I have in homebrew. And I'm a little cloudy how to get it all set up. I read on their site and still don't get it.

I just wanted to give a quick update: The problem's solved. I guess there were too many single "USBLoaderCFG" entries on that day, so any new ones were grouped together as "Others". But now, I can see every game listed correctly. Thank you again, GreyWolf.

I'm kinda in the same position. Well, if you like the Cfg USB Loader, then you should switch to the fork Configurable USB Loader MOD patched. It has quite some fixes and new features. But personally, I now prefer the USB Loader GX I discovered only a week or so ago. The Wii Home Menu-like channel view is pretty awesome, where you can see the "channel animations" of the games when looking at them in the library and when starting them up.

Regarding loaders on the home screen: You probably mean Forwarders. USB Loader GX has one officially for download at their SourceForge page, for everything else you have to look around and possibly create one yourself.

Regarding new things worth mentioning: There's now Wiimmfi, an alternative to the discontinued Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. Right now, 80+ games are supported. USB Loader GX has built-in patching for it ("Private Server" option), Cfg USB Loader MOD patched seems to have it as well. The only negative is the 7 day activation period, but it's necessary because of cheaters and is an automated process (so you don't have to fiddle around after first-time connecting). If you're interested, please read this topic explaining the activation process in detail.

Lastly, there's RiiConnect24, an alternative to the discontinued WiiConnect24. It hasn't much use nowadays and is really more a novelty. The main feature is being able to send messages to others again, with pictures and Miis attached to them. You can let the blue disc glow when receiving messages like in the past. There's also the News and Weather channels and the team is working on more - they can even send announcements to everyone now.

Hi folks. I'm having trouble running some Wiiware via a FAT32 USB drive on my softmodded Wii. I have another modded Wii that runs the same hard drive fine - I'm running USB Loader GX, have copied the Neek folders across (and it runs when I select "Boot Neek System Menu"), for when I need to use neek on some problem games. I've tried installing the wads with both ULGX build in 'Emunand wad manager' and showmiiwads, but both result in a lot of Wiiware saying "The system file for [game name] is corrupted. After deleting [game name] from the Channels management screen, please download [game name] from the Wii Shop Channel again". If I try and use neek on it it just hangs at a black screen.

I've run system updater on Modmii and all it finds are cIOS249[56]-d2x-v8-final and cIOS250[57]-d2x-v8-final - but I already have cIOS 249 base 56 v10 beta53-alt and cIOS 250 base 57 v10 beta52 installed (on both Wiis).

This wii is a bit odd - it had 4.1E on it, and I did the online update to get it to 4.3 so I could use Letterbomb, but I didn't realize that it already had been softmodded - however, when I go into the system menu it still says 4.1E, even though when I updated it said that an update had been completed.

System menu shows as version 54450.

I'm also unable to upgrade Priiloader (that runs when I hold power + reset for 4 seconds on boot), it says something about a non vanilla system menu version).

I have copied cert.sys and 'shared2' folder from the wii nand also.

Can anyone offer me some tips cos I'm out of ideas?

Beta 53 has poor compatibility, especially with EmuNAND.

If Priiloader can't patch the SM then it has been altered or you are using an old version or the wrong hacks_hash.ini.

Yes, I run the emunand WiiWare games fine on my white Wii (the 'good' Wii) using 250 (57) v10 beta52, but it doesn't work on my black wii (the 'bad' Wii in question).
Also, the black wii has boot2v5.
I have attached my syscheck.txt in the previous post.
I'm not fussed about not being able to upgrade priiloader, I'm just posting it for information purposes. Any suggestions are welcome. Thank you.

Edit: I've found a workaround for my Wiiware problem - copy the wads to sd, install them to full Nand with MMM, dump Nand with ULGX, games play fine.

I've gone back to MMM, deleted the wads from full Nand, and the emunand games still play fine.

Does anyone know why I have to do this workaround? Perhaps ULGX and ShowMiiWads install to emunand differently depending on system version?

i am haveing some issues with my wii and i wanted to know how do i get info off my wii so i can post it on here and you can help me find out where my errors are and how to fix them let me explain what my issue is right now ive installed usb loader and i have a 500gb usb hard drive hooked up to my wii and i have it in the correct usb port on the wii here is my problem ive backed up my wii dvds to the hard drive and when i go in to usb loader to load them all i get is a black screen so the game won't play so im guessing i need to uninstall homebrew and start from scratch i really hope someone cann help me out here my wii is on 4.3u firmware if that help

I've been having a problem whenever I try to update the IOS through d2x cios installer. When grabbing IOS 56 from the NUS, it fails on the third file which is 27 796 bytes large. IOS 57 fails on the second file it attempts to download. This occurs when I use NUSD v1.9 as well. The error I receive is:

Download failed: "Downloading Content Failed:
The remote server returned an error: (404) Not Found.

It fails on the same file on both d2x cios installer and NUSD it seems.

I was wondering if anyone may have encountered this issue before, or if there is possibly just a problem with the servers at the moment?

I know your post is almost two weeks old, but if it still helps: I don't think you should buy one just for playing Mario Kart online. I tried it out over the last week and while there are always people around (at least Worldwide), I'm certain that I played with some cheaters every single match. It might be better with Private Rooms, though. If I'm not mistaken, there are some active people who organize groups.
