Will changing the 3DS's region from JPN to EU (using this guide) enable me to play local multiplayer games with people with a european 3DS? Also, is there any more convenient way of achieving this?

make sure you're using 11.1 FIRM. if using luma, delete any firmware.bin in the luma folder and try system update.those are the files i've been using... ntr.bin to root, instal cia, run cia, firmware not supported :/
Once you've installed a9lh (without emunand) you can switch sd cards by copying the files from the old one to the new one. It can also be done with emunand but it requires additional steps (https://gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-transfer-emunand-to-another-sd-card-working-on-new3ds.383684/)Hi all,
A question regarding installing arm9loaderhax and the size of my SD card. My current setup is a mere 4GB SD card (I think it's the one I got with my 3DS system), GateWay with 9.9 Emunand. Sysnand is 4.5. Thanks to these forums, I got familiar with Plailect's guide and I am planning to install it to my 3DS soon. But before I start, I hope you can help me with the following.
Like I said, my SD card is small in size, and I wish to use a bigger one (since there wouldn't be a lot of space for bigger .cias such as DQVII). My question is: should I do this before executing the steps in the guide, or can I change to a larger SD card later?
I've tried to copy all the contents of my current 4GB SD card to a larger 16GB one. While the 16GB boots into Gateway mode just fine, it does not boot my usual 9.9 Emunand like it does with my 4GB card. Could I change this, so that my 16GB SD triggers my Emunand too? Or, does this not matter at all and can I just continue the guide ignoring my Emunand alltogether? I've come to understand that GateWay has become kind of redundant over the last few months (due to arm9loaderhax), but I'm not sure if my Emunand is still necessary.
In my experience there is no noticeable difference between SD and cart, but I can test that once I get home with actually times on both o3ds and n3dsDoes anybody know if there is a difference in load-time/performance when playing a game via physical cart or via SD card (Assume UHS-I speeds. Yes I know, not all created equal still, that's why I said assume). More importantly, with a game like Hyrule Warriors Legends, will there be a difference whether I use one or the other? Just curious. Thanks.

And yes, emunand is pretty much unnecessary if you have a9lh.. except for stuff like wanting to extend the 300 title limit to 600 by having 2 nands and so on.

Hi, I have a question.
i have an old sky3ds (blue button) that I'm using, and I recently installed a cfw using this guide "https://github.com/Plailect/Guide/wiki".
My question is : Can I use the sky3ds cart to play the new ap check games? or do I have to convert all my 3ds games into cia in the sd cart?
ps : the thing is I can't convert anything since my firware was updated to ver 11.0 according to the instructions of the guide....

I don't know about blue button, I have orange button and It supported.
But there is a way to convert your games to cia.

Did you install a9lh ?
This is what I would do.Thanks a lot! Do you think a 4GB SD would be large enough to actually install arm9loaderhax, and than copy the files to my 16GB SD once the whole process is done? Or would it be better to ignore the whole Emunand part completely and just try install arm9loaderhax directly onto my 16GB SD?
ya I did
You want one on firmware 10.7 or less then you can follow this: https://github.com/Plailect/Guide/wikiI have no idea about hacking stuff and i want to buy 3ds ?
You can use JKSM. Have the Sky3DS game selected in your cartridge icon then go into JKSM and choose to backup a cartridge game. Then you can pick the cia game in JKSM and import the save file you just made. How do I transfer saves from Sky3ds to my SD card so they will work on the .cia installed version of the game. Is there a tutorial for this? Thanks!
