Right now I have a Dell XPS 14 L401X from 2010-11

Intel i7-740QM
4GB DDR3 RAM
2GB Nividia GTS 425M
320GB HDD
Win 10 Home 64bit

Decent lappy, kinda beaten up though and the battery provides only 5 minutes runtime so its kinda always hooked to a power source.
New laptop for college soon.:tpi:

nice color theme, new mobo looks like it will fit in well
also interesting I got the same psu but the "V2" edition
they changed the coloring on it from that dark orange to yellow, would have went great with your build

Wow that does actually look great, it would have been nice with the build to match scheme , ill be adding a second one so I think ill go with that instead, they wont be visible though as im bending 1/4" milled aluminium with my brake, to form a shroud for it ill be painting it and cut out some design on the side which I haven't figured out yet, w/ acrylic behind that so that it would light up from a 4in led strip. The idea is to add 2 120mm fans in push pull to pull air out while being able to dedicate clean power to the essential components, I have found a company that makes dual to quad psu bridges that are very nice imo, the quality looks pretty good. So I wanted to try it in the shroud, which ill be riveting to the case itself and having a locking hinge incase maintenance is needed. I thank you for showing me that as those do look much better far as color goes, and that mobo is great imo, they overclock very well and are stable as can be but it simply doesn't match the color scheme for me which is why iv decided w/ the m power instead.

You really just need a motherboard cable spliter http://www.amazon.com/Phobya-2-Way-...-2&keywords=24+pin+motherboard+cable+splitter

my psu is in a shroud already, I dont really have a color scheme, I was thinking about black/gold since the mobo has gold accents and adding these types of cables

Took a couple of years away from PC desktops when I went to university and used gaming laptops instead, but last year I build my first desktop since 2006! :D

Intel Core i5-4460 @ 3.4GHz
16GB DDR3-1600 CL9 G-Skill
AMD Radeon R9 280X 3GB @ 1115/1550
Asrock H97 Performance Gaming Motherboard
Sandisk 240GB SSD + 3.5TB HDD

Not too bad for a moderate budget (wife and kids), especially given it's only running on a 1366x768 TV. My next upgrade will likely be an R9 390 8GB sometime next year - cannot afford more than mid-range, but would have to be a worthwhile upgrade over my 280X.

Yes I know it's bad, don't kill me. It works with everything I need and its a laptop, dont need to play 3D games on it.
