It does. Maybe not from emunand though. Are you using the latest build? Note that you need to have it redo the data install if you update it!

Reinstall official TWL_FIRM on sysnand and it will fix your DS mode.

I just had to do this using 3DNUS and then miniPasta sysNand boot, install BBM, then reinstall 0004013820000102.cia

So please put a warning in the OP that patched TWL_FIRM should only be installed to emuNand

to save others an ordeal

You really don't need this or @Aurora Wright's patched TWL_FIRM to use the GW blue.

You just need to downgrade the whitelist or install bluecardfix.cia from the latest Gateway download.

It would be great to test and play them on native hardware instead of relying on an emulator!

This isn't the Patched TWL_FIRM thread, it's the TWL Slot-1 launcher thread. He's under no obligation to post a warning for something that is pretty much common sense.

Obviously patched TWL_FIRM isn't going to function outside of a signature-patched CFW environment, just as you can't launch games installed via cia outside of a CFW.

Perhaps you can ask @Aurora Wright to create a support thread for her TWL_FIRM patches?

It's listed as confirmed in the OP... hell, I'm using my Acekard 2.1, if that works 2i will definitely work.

hmmm anyone w/ the 2i test letting it idle about 5 mins then scroll thru games? its freezin on me if i idle. (the card's menu i can still restart by pressing Home) (and saving cheat options too)

Let's hope something like this can branch off into other things (I know that this allows more flashcarts to be usable, so Billy's thing will probably lose some traction. Would still be cool if we could still see that in the future though).

Billy Acuña's thread essentially. He's trying really hard to get DS roms working on the 3DS without a flashcart (even though I don't think he knows anything).
His thread has shown some "progress". People were able to make DS games appear on the home menu (thanks to the modified TWL_FIRM created by TuxSH and Aurora Wright), but they don't exactly work. It simply crashes if no DS cart is inserted in the 3DS, or it boots the DS cart if one is inserted, but not the desired game.

I think that "issue" is what inspired Apache Thunder to make this tool (although don't quote me on that).

I'm just hoping people can still focus on that. I don't really care if it ever happens (since I have a flashcart), but it'd be really cool if it did.

Yeah the file type setting in the TID field was causing that, and it gave me the idea of TWL Slot-1 Launcher as I noticed that it could be used to trick TWL_FIRM into booting something CTR mode would normally block. Yeah getting DS games to show up on home menu is easy. Just slap on a DSi Extended header and build a CIA. Getting it to run is a whole other story and currently there is nothing even close to bringing that to a reality. I wouldn't really bank my hopes on such a thing. It's probably not going to happen.

Awesome work! Installed aurora's n3ds twlfirm and this app and my Acekard2i is fully working on my rei emunand n3ds.
Unsurprisingly, my DS-Xtreme won't work, but I think they were always blocked on the DSi.

Question, my Acekard 2i launches perfectly with rxTools + this app and it's on an old firmware. Is it safe to use the update firmware .nds file while on the Acekard?

Just found out you can change your nickname on the DS mode, by running firmware.nds from the flashcard. Although you can't access the actual firmware, since it runs the first-time setup every time, at least this way you can change your nickname.

No. DSiware is built with a specific sdk setting that means it will only work from the sd, DS software will only work from the cart (unless patched).

Patching DS software to work from the SD will most likely never work because the SD is only accessable from the arm7, 99% of cart reads are done from the arm9 so you'd need to ask the arm7 to read the data which would introduce a massive slow down if it worked at all,
