BTW I would like to see one thing any of you overblown critics have coded, please.
"let's see you do better" is a weak argument at best. you don't need to be a chef to know that what you're eating tastes like shit. do you really want bad things to go by just because nobody else can do better?

I'll say it again: overhyped, and disappointment. but you really shouldn't have expected much.

I don't think I've ever seen a "homebrew scene" quite like the 3ds one. Nobody ever releases anything until it gets leaked (good idea entrusting your precious secret cfw to some 8 year old kid who doesn't know how not to install a goddamn backdoor on his parent's computer!), then they get upset when it happens.

It's hard not to be toxic when everything good is just a big tease that only certain people are allowed to use. If you don't plan on releasing anything, just keep it to your little group, it will solve just about every problem we have here in these forums.

Truth is, without gateway, there would be no 3ds homebrew, but they are truly the worst kinds of pirates, selling their fucking softmod for extortionate prices, even years later.

Ok but smea released homebrew stuff that still works up to the current firmware, as well as the only core dev library being used by any homebrew developers, including the retroarch guys and rinnegantemante, who between them are doing a ton of awesome stuff for you. So is this really a valid complaint?

But look at how much drama, hacking and backstabbing it took to get this far. It's just sad on both sides, the users and the devs.

Most exploit dev's don't even tease their findings but since so many GBATemp people check regular their IRC Channels, twitter accounts or whatever (and directly posting something they heard about) it becomes public for almost everybody here. And as i said there is no reason to behave like an asshole and call them names.

100% of the drama is created by the ignorant community. They don't understand the complexity of hacking a modern console and therefore are unable to understand why they have to wait months or more for a working exploit. When hotz broke the ps3 it was a fucking miracle and that thing was out for years at that point. A whole generation later and you still think people are going to open this shit up in a week. It's only going to get worse from here.

That's a common belief, but my opinion is that devs know how kids and endusers behave. If something is announced before any working alpha or any proof of the project at all, its done with the sole intention of generating hype.

I mean you could try, my folder was "update" but it was also a version used way back on sunday. Newest versions should be "updates" so you should be fine.

Nah, still nothing. I give up for the night. At this point I see two possibilities

1.- Installer will work and I'll get a semi-downgrade
or
2.- Installer will work and I'll get a soft-brick

So much for trying to be possitive, lmao

IME, the trouble doesn't start until AFTER the shit gets cracked open.

There are definitely people like that but especially "real hackers" (and that is not limited to hacking) are not like that.
Most peoples expectations are just to high and if they don't get their stuff they get angry, disappointed or similar and have nothing better to do as write it down btw. make their anger as public as possible.

This is the kind of crap that happens when you don't shut the fuck up begging and spreading dumbass speculations because of you're bored and greedy. These developers owe us absolutely nothing and they do this stuff simply because they want to. I've waited patiently for this and you guys pissed him off so now none of us are getting a stable downgrade app. Thanks. I was sure I was going to not have to feel any risk downgrading to 9.2. I'll just assume Gateway's method will be worth the wait and leave on that note.
you're trying to blame the people here when he was part of the reason this all went downhill too. he was constantly teasing stuff here. it wasn't even to a small extent, it was too the point where it honestly kinda looked like he wanted the attention

then he turns around and blames it on everyone here because people were putting too much pressure on him or whatever. if this was a one time thing I'm sure everyone would be alot more forgiving but this is third time now. someones probably gonna reply to this telling me I'm acting entitled when its completely far from that. I was just watching from behind the scenes gawking at this mess but you just shouldnt lie. 3 times especially

This is the last thing I'm gonna post here.

Negativity does not lead to production, only positivity does.

If someone claims they're going to "make something", then be supportive instead of whining and bitching about delays, sneak peeks, ect.
This is what happens when people believe they're under appreciated; they show that they say jump, and you say how high.

Enjoy your unstable release of KTM, people. Cause you fucking ruined it for yourselves, and I don't feel one bit bad.
