I have the same setup (linked sysnand/emunand) and don't get a loop, it boots directly in GW Emunand.
Is it because themes were not setup when my Emunand was created (I did the themes setup only in Sysnand, after Emunand creation) ?

I choose option 1 for menuhax setup :
- I press "L" during early boot until bottom screen flashes, then release "L" for GW mode Emunand Boot
- If I want GW menu, I keep "L" pressed until I get the menu
- If I want normal Sysnand boot, I don't press anything

Also, regarding the setup Guide, CTRBootmanager is useless if you only care about GW CFW : you can simply rename GW.3dx to boot.3dx without CTRBM setup/configuration : the process is simpler.

Choose wireless data transfer and all your saves etc (including MiiPlaza progress) will be transferred. I'm not knowledgeable about current eShop spoof methods, recently it was really easy (FreeMultiPatcher) but Nintendo added extra checks and made it harder.

Crawled through a few threads of the current method, tried it multiple times, and figured it's not worth the trouble... I'll just wait for n3ds emunand support... it'll come eventually...

For eShop on N3DS GW 9.5 emuNAND: You just need to install two appropriate CIA files (tiger and nver) and use freemultipatcher once every time like you always do when you boot into GW emuNAND and all is well. Using the method the eShop still works on 9.5 GW emuNAND.

OK, I understand now : when Emunand boots, it finds proper title ID for theme data on SD card (ID are the same for linked Emunand/Sysnand), so with option 2 and no key pressed the hax will trigger again and try to lauch GW boot.3dsx which will fail because already in Emunand.

With option 1 nothing will happen because it needs key pressed to trigger the hax, and no key is pressed anymore at that time (if key remain pressed, GW menu will appear berore Emunand boots).

So it seems option 1 is the only solution for linked Emunand/Sysnand.

What I'm interested in seeing is, how will they handle 9.3+ for users who already owned a GW but have their 3DS above 9.2 for whatever reason?
I assume GW Launcher would require ARM9 kernel. Memchunkhax2 only grants ARM11 kernel.

Unless ARM11 kernel grants enough access to allow upgrading the FPGA on the GW cartridge (or upgrading the GW Blue card) then they'd be kinda stuck.
For people who purchase a new one they can ship GW pre-updated with the latest version that takes care of ntrcardhax which gives them ARM9 access. But people who already owned a GW before wouldn't have a GW that would be able to exploit ntrcardhax and wouldn't be able to update their GW for it.

Also GW blue card by default only works up until 4.5 or so? and the only way to get it to work on higher firmwares was by downgrading twl whitelist. Someone who owns a 10.3 3DS and bought a GW after the announcement wouldn't be able to run the blue card to run a potential updater on it.

If updating the GW or updating the blue card works with only ARM11 kernel then that is a non-issue, though.
Or it would be really interesting if GW had another ARM9 kernel exploit up their sleeve that only they knew about.

For the time being no-one really knows but them. It'll be interesting to see how they handle it.
For all we know their solution is to get their users to downgrade to 9.2, lol

Well ARM11 did grant access to the launcher.dat on 9.2 so I dont see why this time would be any different?

So i need something like cubic ninja to downgrade? Or i can do this with the GW alone?

once when you are in 9.2 , you can update the 10.3 emunand
gateway 3.61 has new cheat engine search , press L+R or start+select and you can open in game cheat menu , it's pretty simple to use , just like cheat engine for PC.

Can't be through gateway menu, as you can't access it on greater than 9.2.

Downgrading is now available for all 3DS models above 9.2, enjoy!

You can't do anything with the downgraded console though, except install legit CIAs which you can do with the modded FBI without downgrading.

Hey friends,its been long time since i left the 3DS-GW scene
so back in August i sold all my 3DSs(between 4.5 and 9.0 fw)
today i picked up New 3DS XL (Hyrule ed) from Gamestop and its 9.9
after i read that GW team has some surprises (Sooooon is this still a thing )
so what should i expect same OOT kind of hack or full hack like 4.5 (and what the possibilities of emunand+CIA support)
