Wow, I dodged a bullet with Super Smash Bros U. I bought the game back in August but never loaded it. I was debating whether to trust it would be 5.2 or whether to get splatoon to be safe.

(Splatoon is not on the list btw)

As an Australian with an Australian version of Wii U v5.1.2 E, which game can I buy locally to install the required firmware?

Theres lots of talk here about US versions and EUR but no aus. I don't know if they would be the same.

Australia = Pal, which is the same as EUR. However I have noticed some australian sold games that have AUS specific WUPS on the disc. My best bet would be to wait for someone from Australia who has safely done it to post their method for u.

Hard to say right now, unless someone from the press sees this and wants to contribute. But I think its safe to say it wont be 5.3.2

Yeah, almost certain it won't be 5.3.2. I'm just stuck on 5.4, so the only way I could play without updating would be if it came with 5.4, which seems like a possibility since game discs went out to reviewers a while ago.

You might get lucky and have it at 5.4. But again, those were review discs, that batch is out in the wild now and will only get smaller.

sorry don't saw any question. There is a WiiU bundle in the EU with Mario Kart 8 is pre-installed on the console, while Splatoon will be included in the form of a download code.
Is the console on 5.3.2 Firmware and can updated with Splatoon DLC to 5.3.2?

My Xenoblade LE EUR is finally here and I can confirm it's 5.5. Or rather, I'm at 5.4 and asks me to update .

That doesn't necessarily mean it comes with 5.5. When I bought my 5.3.2 Wii U, SSB4 asked me to update, but the system version stayed at 5.3.2

Fatal Frame already came with 5.5 so any game coming out now will have 5.5. for sure.
