I wanted to ask this question to the community of gbatemp because, it seems when people think of those arms, they think: "omg!! piracy!! :ohnoes:"

well what I want these arms for is more homebrew capabilities and the ability to dump the games I already have on carts and convert them to digital titles so I don't look like a noob carrying a whole bunch of cartages in a case or in my pocket and I don't have to pay $100+ for games I already bought physically...

What's your reason for wanting arm control?

Anyone who says anything other than piracy is bullshitting. Even I bought a 9.0 n3DS for piracy.

Was pretty worth it tbh. Bought it for $150 and that's like 4 games? I can use it to play infinite amount. Totally worth the investment.

full GBA + SNES emulation and injecting ( i know it's possible for N3DS , what about OG 3DS users ? )
also , maybe some day we will be able to install DS games inside the 3DS ?
also PS1 emulation , but i doubt that

- Emunand to be able to stay at a frimware level where menuhax is possible while still having the latest update to be able to access the pokebank again...
- Spite Nintendo for preventing me from accessing a service I paid for (still have 2-3 month left) because of my firmware level...(9.9 instead of 10.3)
- The ability to download CIA is just a bonus...I don't have much faith in the files from that iso site...they seem full of viruses/spywares...and I think i'll keep buying cartridge games for the safety of my laptop...

Just for eShop access, really. Don't need piracy, but i'd rather spend my money without having to lose the convenience of theme-/browserhax. I like having full control over my save games.

I don't even know what is ARM9 or ARM11, I only know that the 3DS is using an ARM processor.
Can you enlighten my lacking knowledge?
Oh, seriously ? :P
ARM9 = PXI services, signcheck, all that stuff
ARM11 = RAM usage, processes handling, services, games, etc
in a nutshell of course, I guess there's something about it on 3dbrew

Cart dumping can be done from userland. Braindump is one such example.

Oh yeah, full frame ware spoofing

No more stability updates
Just change the number of the frameware and you free to go
Or even ability to custom the update so we can get the cool stuff from it and remove the stability stuff from it.

This would sound childish, but a while ago I was only interested on it to play GBA games and Cave Story 3D (since it's impossible to find). But now that they've blocked the eShop spoof, I want it to pirate the games. If you're not going to let me buy your games legitimately, i'll just pirate them (digital ends up being waaaaaaaaaay cheaper than physical in my country)

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite
    for people with beefy hands.
