I'm wondering if I should delete the Internet settings on my 3DS in case Nintendo/VdDev decides to stealth an Ironhax block.

The game has a 48 on metacritic (lower than Cubic Ninja even), so he's not alone in bashing vdDevs's hard work.

Game development can be brutal. Hopefully at least, the game was financially successful for them.
I like the game, i bought it when it came out, it's more fun then Cubic Ninja and i still play it!
It's to much underrated or metacritic just don't now how to rate games :P, liking games is a personal thing, not a 1 or 2 men's opinion that like to speak for the whole world!

OP is just playing with fire. I'm sure both Nintendo and the developers are well aware of smea's latest announcement, they're probably standing on the sidelines to see if anything comes out of it. However, instigating with the game devs and hinting around is NOT a good idea...

While I understand the views of the people claiming that it was mean-spirited to specifically send a message to the developers about how it's only getting so many downloads because there's potentially (technically-speaking) a major exploit in their game, I do like that the developers of said game seem to be rather friendly and accepting of this. They seem to be the kind of people who, unless Nintendo themselves forces them to either fix or remove their game, don't have a problem with allowing homebrew and like the fact that it's possible to do.

If you think about it, 300,000 people downloaded their game. (Yes, I know that it's a wrong number, but let's roll with it for now.) Let's say that 275,000 people only downloaded it for homebrew. You know that the fact that there's a new game sitting on their 3DS that they haven't played will just bug some of those people. Even if only a third of those people decide to try the game out of idle curiosity, whether they enjoyed it or not, this exploit just got over 91,000 people to play and experience what these guys put hard work in making. I made a partial demo of a game once myself, and the number of people who played it only numbered around 10, possibly 20 if I wanted to be incredibly optimistic. Even so, one person streamed themselves trying my game for the first time ever, and getting to see even just a single person enjoy what I made was probably the greatest experience of my life.

well i can say "taunting" or "highlighting" hacks isnt the cleverest of options you can be certain that some of the self elected "stop having fun" police have already been hounding the dev's/nintendo about it, so i doubt its going to make that much of a difference in the grand scheme of things, we already seen the same kinda stuff when nintendo messed up with the 9.5 encryption keys, spoil sports running to the teacher to tell on everyone....so yeah nothing new

as for why it hasn't been removed from the eshop when cubic ninja was pulled after a couple of days....well thats kinda obvious, the dev team behind CN were already bust at that point, so Nintendo probably had a lot less trouble removing the game, i assume with a newer game (rather than one that probably hadn't had a sale in over a year before the hack was announced) and one with still active developers, Nintendo would prefer to play it cool and give them the time they need to make a fix without removing the game entirely....i would imagine Nintendo will probably give them a deadline to get a fix out as soon as the exploit drops

Why would anyone go out of their way to tell game developers that their software is being used as an exploit? Even better question, why would anyone gloat on someone else's work? What if this pissed them off and they requested a pull from nintendo themselves? The stupidity here simply amazes me sometimes. Perhaps you kids would be more apted jerking each other off then you are in a homebrew scene. Idiots.

Edit. And then to come back here and gloat about telling them. Haha wtf?

The devs are probably sad that no ones buying this for the actual game.

We should tell the devs next to make another exploit on purpose and see what happens

>makes a game
>game is on store, advertised as a game, but the reality it is just a demo... fuck you players (in their defence, i can't say who made this decision of making the demo look a whole game...)
>game has a download every once in a while, and also got some sales..
>6 months passed by, suddenly "game" (demo) has thousans of downloads in a single day
>MFW i realize how crap the game i built with love is ignored, and is just used for hax

Am sorry but i consider you a snitch, if they found out about this by themselves fine by me. this is the same as those people who when an exploit gets found they post it on r/3ds so Big N patch it sooner

are we really stupid to don't assume they didn't already know?
come on, they are smart enough to build a game, and IIRC it's built on assembly, probably the hardest programming language...
are we really gonna consideer they didn't knew whats going on?
using google is the most basic things on the internet.. i know some people fail to use it but, come on.. just write the game on google to know why it got so many downloads..

also, why we aren't assuming there was lots of people already writing emails or tweet like 14 years old making fun "haha, your game is hacked"?
OP making some teasing or not, have no impact when there is such a low change someone didnt told directly the developers..

there are only 3 reasons i can think about a game sudendly having so many downloads on a day
1, hax was found
2. someone on the internet started a meme\trend mentioning that game..
3, someone found a secret\easter egg on that game and now everyone wants to see it.. (very unlikely)

edit: but yeah, i agree its kinda bad taste doing it... but still. OP was soft compared to other folks

For the moment , Big N hasn't taken any actions about it so , for the moment , i suggest to stay quiet

My theory is that this happened because the first ninjhax allowed for kernel access (a much bigger deal) while ironhax doesn't

I feel kind of bad for the devs. I played the actual game, and though I am not really in to shooters in general, the gameplay was fun. The voice acting is terrible IMO, the graphics are okay, the controls suck (unless you use a n3DS/CPP), but the gameplay was fun. I played the campaign demo and tried out multiplayer. The devs put a lot of work into the game, especially since it is such a small group of people.
