Sorry guys for asking such a late question, but I have only traced the Wii U hack news just recently, and I don't understand a few things.

-So how many Wii U hacks are out there? I heard about kernel exploit hacks (Still not out? but it can do almost everything) and Wii U browser exploit hack (Can do a few things like compiling C code).
-What will the Wii U hack released on 16th of June do exactly? What will we be able to do with it?

Excuse me for those questions, but I really got lost about this subject since there are plenty of topics regarding the same matter but have different content.

Well, I read a lot of stuff but tbh it's not very clear what the upcoming hack will look like and what it will allow to do out-of-the-box or later. (playing wiiu backups? maybe someday. Modding games and making homebrews? most likely. Region-freeing? idk. Emunand / CFW? idk.)
What I know is that it will be a non-permanent hack that will be enabled through the wiiu's web browser, and we won't be able to install "channels" on the home screen. So maybe not a full kernel exploit, but a browser-based exploit yeah.

Yeah its been released, what they have done is private PM'd everyone the hack that is on the VIP list! If your not on the list you wont get the files, sorry. If you want to get on the list you must bend over and make sure you rub plenty of KY up the crack of your ass so MN1 & Co. can all line up and smash your back door wide open! OK

might get burned for asking but i have just aquired a Wii U with firmware 5.4.0E i have smash bros brawl can i use this with smash stack to install the home brew channel on this new firmware ??

I just bought a WiiU yesterday, was going to read up on how to hack it today after I got back from work but my younger brother had already taken it out of the box and set it up, along with updating it to 5.4. Is there anyone working on an exploit for 5.4, or am I stuck with a forevermore unhackable WiiU?

Once 5.3.2 is finished, they will work on 5.4. you'll just have to hang on.
