I have a 3DS XL, and a DSTWO, and it does work fine.

There's this little spec area in the lower right of the bottom screen that says MIC. Blow on that area. Not underneath it or holding it up and trying to blow at a hole where the DS had their mic, but on top of the word 'MIC'.

I know about the mic location and tested it separately in a 3DS app and it works. I'm suspecting it might have something to do with the firmware version, I'm on 9.2.0 with a US 3DS XL, which firmware are you using?

Indeed, I'll try to wipe the SD clean and retry, might be that too many firmware upgrades/some strange corruption (checkdisk fixed some issues last time I ran it) is behind this.

I am thankful that I have not encountered any serious bug. The game has been very amazing for and I felt the translation was spot on.
In fact since my NDS is more of a 'cloned' version, i felt the mic wasn't working with saying Hold It or Objection. I forgot that I would have to say it in JAP =D

The beta patch is working great and once again, hats off for a brilliant translation

One last comment, is it grammatically more correct to say
"I thought so... But it wasn't true" (note the cap after the dots)
OR " I thought so... but it wasn't true"

go to file, export backup memory, choose raw sav format, send me the save, i will give it a try on my DS...
that can be problem on the emulator...

Thanks for the help but I found a fix. I just used a save file that wasn't too far from where I was. Unfortunately I deleted the bad save file.

It's really hard to figure out exact spot in game without any other information.
What was the last dialogue before this happened?

edit: Did you change patch while you were in case 2?
You always need to start from beginning of chapter
just in case, if you use save from old patch. It is because,
if we change something, save in middle of chapter might
not work.

I REALLY hate to be that guy but can someone be kind enough to walk me through step by step how to patch this? I downloaded everything and Ive patched it but for some reason it is still only in Japanese. I don't know what Im doing wrong.

Would there be a way for me to get the tools/info you used/aquired when you worked your way through the game (hacking wise)?
I began fiddeling with the AA games, but if someone already found things out, Im honestly too lazy to work myself through there again (especially since I suck at crypto stuff)...

I'm having the exact same problem as Deathevan. I started my game fresh with the latest patch, and every single time I get to that part, Edgeworth stops speaking. Yes. That is real error. But it is already late here... It is easy fix, but we need to make new version of patch.
There are hundreds of files in this game, I forgot to check one in game after changing it.

I wonder how previous fellow got past it. Maybe he skipped that part somehow.

I see. So will there be a new version of the patch? If so, I'll gladly wait for it. But if not, then I guess I'm out of luck. I wish I knew how that other guy got past that part.

So guys, I was having that same issue at the intro of case 3 (playing with desmume-0.9.10), so I tried the 0.9.9 version of the emu. The problem now is that I can't load my sav. file or can't even import the ones shared in the post. Seems like it just doesn't load.
Is there any way to work on that or I'll have to play the 2 first cases again?

Are you sure, you don't still have beta patch (one that says beta in title screen+episodes)? Which patch you used (beat or xdelta)?

If you use saves in shared post, easiest way is to change dsv to sav and use "file > import backup memory"
