Hacking I think i have a way for gateway on N3DS

The 3DS's YouTube app is exploitable, actually. It runs an older revision of webkit and can be redirected with a really simple MITM (at least on the 3DS and as of August, last time I checked.) That being said, it's still not spider and obviously won't be able to run exploits built for spider or SKATER.

It was the MII exploit, they said it was messing up mii functionality so they have to go for a different road.

Oh no, I have all these games an homebrew apps, but I can't use my Miis! Whatever will I do?!

That's a shame though, and I can't say I understand how an exploit in sysNAND keeps the Mii maker from functioning in emuNAND.

I don't know the details... Just this one. Speaking for myself I couldn't care less about mii. I don't even know what it does exactly but apparently there are people out there who use it.

Didn't the exploit run through the real browser? The youtube app probably lacks the ability to run the exploit, considering it's a completely different app as far as I know. But, I guess in the event it did work it would be useful for the few people who owned the system before 9.3 and were able to download the app.

Still a broken exploit.. If it messes with mii functionality then Mario kart and Smash Bros won't work properly.

Well we don't know that but, since the issue was big enough to delay the release we could assume it messed up with something important.

Where is the news stating that the mii exploit broke mii usage in general? Aside from that deleted n3ds gateway tutorial exploit thread by sonyusa i havent seen anyone actually confirm that the mii exploit even exists. Unless i missed it somewhere (which is totally possible XD)

The Mii thing being an entry point is just speculation from what I can tell. Mostly because of a little noticed mistake the demonstrator made while showing off the exploit in that N3DS video from Gateway that we have all seen a billion times. I would not be surprised to see a curve ball come from gateway and the Mii app not be involved at all in this.

As for the Mii exploit breaking something...That's also speculation built upon another thing that was speculation. I don't think that should be believed just yet.

I doubt Gateway used YouTube as the entry point. Given that consoles don't include the app out of the box and Gateway did say no extra hardware/software is needed to gain access to to Gateway mode.

Continuing the speculation...

Surely the Mii exploit only needs to be used once. So, you run the Mii exploit, and then use the opportunity to downgrade the N3DS to 9.0/9.2. At that point the browser works again, so no need for the Mii exploit anymore.

Does that make sense?

My AUS / PAL N3DS is on 9.0 and the browser loads up fine.

But you can't play games from different region with Sky3DS on N3DS.
