It's not a matter of believing me... There's proof earlier in this thread in the form of a screenshot. Behold, the vWii running Ubuntu 12.04 with LXDE over the top.

This was all possible bc of Ninja_Carver and his genius! I was more of a testing minion then anything else. But this is amazing! After work tonight I'm going to make a video and post it here. I will also try another mouse out too :-PTSK had to leave for work so I guess I'll leave you with an update:
We're back to where we were, with LXDE successfully running on Ubuntu 12.04.
We're unable to get his mouse to work currently, but suspecting it may be a defective mouse since keyboard, LAN, and USB flash all work, and im pretty sure the mouse service is running.
Wow, nice job guys!
Silly question, but I've been out of the loop and have no idea what progress has been made...?
you will see when I post the video
That's pretty freakin awesome!
Ninja_Carver did this in the past, but lost the sd card image file for it, and no longer owns a wii u so things went stale for a while . It took us about a month off and on of experimenting to try to recreate what he did, but we finally got it up an running again today
We just haven't had a chance to try that yet. Ill play around with it tonight after workWhy isn't it a part of the init.d anyway? Just make a script to modprobe the nic and set it to be up and run dhclient. Its like five lines tops.
That disk image already has a swap partition.
