Marcan troll. Why nobody shpw some video or proof around wiiu? Without share code? Nothing is done/complete?

fail0verflow_gamepad.png

Not to mention the fact that every technical detail I've seen in Wii U mode so far matches up with what fail0verflow has said.

I think I've made my position clear; I want no part in piracy or online cheating.

I respect your decision, but I do want to point out that piracy isn't possible with just a PPC kernel exploit. You need IOSU access.

They have morals. On a homebrew scene.

I fail to see how this is a bad thing.

Nah, you could do plenty more than that.

Not in the latest version, if my memory serves me. That is, unless you're using the "My Stuff" folder to patch shorter tracks over the default ones and racing online (in Worldwides).
Just curious is this tool like back in the GameCube days where you had to have a network adapter for the Cube and perform search through the Network with it's own IP address? Kinda like GNrd?
There were some games that were capable of LAN multiplayer, and only a few that are able to play online. Online gaming actually started back with the SNES with a third party peripheral that connects through Dial-Up, if I remember correctly.

I think there was a broadband modem as well. But the SNES had a dial up modem for sure.

Custom tracks in MK8 sounds ideal since Nintendo doesn't give a toss about putting any additional content on the game, we know that during the summer we'll be getting a playable Mercedez car but that's about it I think, and it's not much really.

Racing stages from Double Dash in MK8 would be awesome and a reason to return to MK8 again! ^_^

Yep, but I'll only play "online" once they hook up the custom server, that way we'll have no fear of banning ;)

God I hope not.
They are on the right track though. So-called hackers with morals are just simple show offs. Discussion about vaporware and "guise look we hackd mario kart XDDD" should be against the rules here. You just boost their egos by posting such useless threads that do not contribute to the cause in any way or form.

TeamScriptKiddies u can use fb or gl on trinux? For my opinion thegoal is use all ram and a ccellerated graphic under trinux. Today on 360rgh we have,
3Core support bit onlu soft gfx. Only a alpha frame buffer support. A working opengl can turn a wiiu in a super mediacenter (u watch the films and rea info on the pad). Syeam u?

Thanks we appreciate your support! :). At least as long as I'm working on this project, I can assure you, this will remain out in the open (to the best of my ability). This needs to be a collaborative effort to develop into a viable platform for homebrew. I'm also personally a huge fan of any sort of open source software period.

As for Chadderz and Beans, they have their reasons for not sharing their exploit just yet. Let them be. They've already stated their reasoning countless times, enough is enough people geez. A kernel exploit release for Wii U is imminent, whether they decide to provide it or not. If they can figure it out, so can another team of hackers/coders.

Don't get me wrong, what Chadderz and Beans have done is quite amazing, but if they aren't ready to share it yet, people need to respect that, period.
Does vWii hack only enable 3 cores in linux? Is it limited to wii memory limit? It is pretty much useless then.
Even with PS3 256MB RAM is not enough nowadays. Wii Us 1GBs (or maybe even 2) would be pretty comfortable though for a versatile Linux machine.

The 3DS scene and Smea are a good example of a bad thing.

Can someone fill me in on this? What has smealum done wrong other than be against piracy? I'm not saying he hasn't done anything wrong, I just genuinely don't know and am curious.

Yeah, it's a good bet that racing custom tracks online will get you banned quick. I'm sure Nintendo doesn't want what happened on MKW to happen on MK8.

smealum :ha:

If your this hell bent against modding, then why do you post? You also failed my test.

For starters, custom tracks, texture hacks and custom music never interfered with anyone else who didn't have the files.

Secondly, because both MKWii and MK8 are peer to peer multiplayer, Nintendo has no way of detecting modifications. The only thing the servers do are the matchmaking, record keeping, and tournament hosting. Once you find players and/or start a tournament, the server does nothing else.

The only thing that ruined MKWii were the FTWs and most of the FTLs. (Even though FTLs gave everyone points, it was a PITA getting constantly hammered with bombs, stars, shells, etc.)

Thirdly, modifying video games is completely legal according to the United States Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit. See Game Genie v Nintendo of America, Inc.

His setup would be like Jailbreaking an iPhone, but only having access to a quarter of it's potential (Because he doesn't want Piracy and Cheats). I've already spent $50 on a little card that lets me play all my games for free, so I don't care about the piracy aspect as much, just the limitations set in place because of the blocking of it.

I just hope whatever comes of his developments will be open to the public for modification, so that we aren't stuck with only that quarter I was talking about.

Real answer:

The reason I'm against him is because he ditched a much better exploit, with way more capabilities, to go work on one that does "a quarter" of what it could do. He got me really hyped up for a good Homebrew scene that I now don't see coming for a long time (Unless the fucking Flashcard Company's can fill in for him, which sounds terrible).

I'm not against it? I was saying that if you connect to multiplayer while you're using Custom Content, you're more than likely going to be banned. That's it, nothing against modding. I'm 100% for it if anything.

Ah, thanks! Just the way some of your posts are worded. Glad you support it :) Well for one, Chadderz said he would release a the game modifying exploit when someone else release a exploit that doesn't rely on the browser.

As I said before, it's highly unlikely you'll get banned. Both MKWii and MK8 are peer to peer multiplayer and you never got banned for custom content in MKWii. I used to play with textures hacks and custom music in World Wide all the time and got no ban. Hell, before the custom server, CTGP used "normal" online. No one got banned :D

They've most likely vamped up the security quite a bit for the Wii U, though. Don't be too careless!

Yep. If it turns out to be true, we'll just have to wait for custom server support which should be pretty easy to implement. The only thing that won't work right out of the gate are tournaments. (Correct me if I'm wrong)

I for one can't wait for dedicated battle arenas, specifically Double Deck. It's my favorite arena from MK64.
