I find it funny that people complain about the savestate thing when......playing Roms on your PC are illegal and why would Ninty "have" to give us a feature that started with illegal games....oddly other games and Sony support this feature but really, complaining about it. The GBA games look just like I expected them to be, and loss of color...have you not played played a DS game yet?

Oh yeah, those of us who bought their 3DS for $250......STFU! You were resided to paying the full amount and we had the ability to take our old DSs to Gamestop and get $100 off, I payed $120 for my 3DS after taxes and screen protector. Those of you who were too poor to get a 3DS STFU! You got the system cheaper instead of having to wait another month or 2, or if you had to wait for your B-day then your parents suck.

Why is there such a gather of complainers "Boo hoo I payed more than other for my 3DS even tho I knew how much it would cost for months. Oh yeah 20 free games that they didn't have to give to me cause so what if I payed more, I normally bitch about anything. Oh no those FREE games look terrible the games that they make absolutely no money should have had more time spent on them to make them better....I know how stupid that sounds but I like to complain." Or you paid less and, "I payed less for my 3DS but I don't get free games, this sucks! Oh those free games look terrible that what you get for paying more. Man I wish I had those games...."

....seriously....wtf is wrong with you people it's life, grow up and stop complaining about getting a damn free game or getting a free game and complaining about how it looks in comparison to playing the game in an illegal manor.
Hey you, how MUCH did you pay for the 3DS.
[/jokeruined]
Hey you, maybe Nintendo should have just gave us NOTHING?
[/just end]
Or simply do their job RIGHT.
Haha, you think their job is to make sure GBA games look better by teenager standards. That's rich.
You seriously are not stopping.
Part of wishes this post maked sense, but then another part remembers that you barely makes sense ever. Like that whole "Only idiots and reviewers buy consoles on launch" meaning something different than "Unless you're a reviewer, you're an idiot if you buy it on launch day"
Actually you got that ONLY part wrong and just determining something a lot different then was intended.

How about this? I bought my 3DS on launch week (the thursday or friday after it launched), but never bothered to register on this ambassador program. I knew about it, but didn't have wifi at home back then, and I never took the time to carry my 3DS to a wifi hotspot. When I eventually got a wireless router, it was too late to register. So I missed out on the ambassador program. But when I saw what was being offered (10 NES and 10 GBA roms), i wasn't that impressed... Already had all these roms on my PC hard disk, and could play them however and with whatever hardware I want (On the Wii, PC, or DS Lite with the EZ-Flash 3-in-1). So no regret for me, I don't really care.

You didn't need a Wifi spot to get into the Ambassador Program. You just needed to register your consoles serial code on their website.

And the benefit of getting these games, is we get coins on Club Nintendo, which we can then redeem for amazing stuff and 3DS games :)

But I suppose if you have all of the Zelda Posters they have, the t-shirts, handbags, Game and Watch Ball, the Hanafuda Cards, the towels, the Mario fans and posters, and overall have no interest in getting free stuff and games for buying games, then ya, no regrets for an easy 200 coins.

I haven't had any problems with the title's I've played. I have yet to try out Yoshi's Island, Minish Cap, or Mario vs Donkey Kong, but the rest of the titles look and play just fine for me. Same with the NES titles. Sorry for those that aren't enjoying the titles as much as others.

Even while there can be some heavy ghosting, what I like is how little power consumption these games require of the 3DS. As I said in another thread, the 3DS is either using very little emulation or none at all, in a similar fashion done with DS games. I played Metroid Fusion the other day for 20 minutes after my 3DS was fully charged, and when I put it back for recharging, it indicated that it was still fully charged.

This, I have no problem with all GBA games, people are overreacting too much on those free games.

I'm with you, the battery life is hardly suffering, someone should test out how long GBA games last on 3DS. :P Played 2 hours of Minish cap, battery was still full life.

I don't think this is emulation, since this is highly likely to be a ARM11 processor, it can run execute codes for ARM7/9, right? So this leads me to believe it's virtualization, like how PSP runs PSX games.

Well of course it would, but the unit can still require charging even if it shows 4 bars. We're just getting a very simplified indicator of the battery life ( >75% with 4 bars, >50% with 3 bars, etc.). All I'm saying is that it needed no charging after running one of the GBA games for 20 minutes, as any other non-GBA game on the 3DS could use a charge in the same scenario.

Am I just lucky? Every game system I get last forever with nothing ever going wrong....well my PS2 did stop my controllers from rumbling, but w/e. My Wii is 4 years old, works fine like it was brand new, same for my PSP, my PS2 was from launch and lasted 7 years before I sold it to get me a DS, never had time to play console games work+school+one tv in the house= no game time. And my 3DS lets me play Samurai Warriors on brightness 4, power-save off, 3D on full bloom and get 8 hours of gameplay.

Sure. Good for you?
I also think it's funny how the guy linked to his own page just so he could talk crap while backed up by a "source." There are some great games on here, and they're really fun! I can't really see anything bad about them. (besides multiplayer support...)

I just got my ambassadors games and I don't see the big deal, the games are FREE and are decent ports of some great GBA games.

Argh. They get what they want, and already someone complains. -_- Dude, those games are a port. The games are left INTACT. Besides, If you don't like the blurring images, disable the upscaling. Damn. I absolute HATE people that doesn't appreciate what they are given for FREE.

Did Nintendo deliberately try to emulate the GBA display itself, in that it isn't as bright or sharp?
Because that's what it seems like.
That is absolutely correct sir, read below

It was a necessity for the GBA's dark screen, but now on modern screens it makes the games look washed out (which is why they've turned the gamma down on these VC releases)

Most GBA specific games also used bright colour palettes to compensate for that dark screen. You'll notice how Metroid Fusion uses brighter colours for its characters and environments than previous Metroid games and how Mario Kart SC is very bright in comparison to other MK games.
