I have got a zelda triforce retail game, and i want to use my save with a cfw like rxtools, so...
How can i backup my save from the retail cartridge to use it with rxtools?

And, if I want to use it on a different console ...
Where stores the save this game?

The 3DS for dumping your Zelda Tri-hero save should be on SysNAND 6.0+.
You must upgrade your SysNAND if you're using 4.X 3DS.

For 6.0-9.2, follow the SaveDataFiler tutorial.
For 9.3-10.2, search SVDT in this forum and try to learn to use it.

This usually happens on SysNAND 4.X.
If it is, you must upgrade SysNAND in order to dump the save properly.

BTW, you can't use SDF to read retail cart in GW mode or GW classic mode.
- GW mode never recognizes retail cart.
- GW classic mode never boots SDF.

On that note, how does one get SDF to recognize .sav files for card1 game roms?

Rename .sav into 000400000FF40A00.sav and mount the ROM.
This only works for GW redcard.

So for, say, Xenoblade Chronicles:

The save is normally named 000400000F700100.sav, but I need to rename it to 000400000FF40A00.sav and then mount Xenoblade via the multirom menu. At that point I start SDF and extract from CTR-CARD?

Yes, it is.
