    ^lol

But its nothing to the game. Its not as the old ones.
The story is there so your not missing out by not playing the others.
With botw just take your time and explorer. Alot is found by doing so.
Also use your map, marker and quest guide to keep you on track

Just play the game at your own pace. You can go wherever you like. Explore, create your own adventure.

Collect every item you see, you will have use for them soon enough.
Do as many shrines as possible, complete them all before beating Ganon if you want to get the most out of the game.
Check out anything that looks weird, interesting or out of place. Koroks hide in all sorts of places and puzzles. If you see a lone rock, pick it up. If you see a formation of metal boxes, it's a puzzle. If you see a stump with a leaf on it, step on it. There are also many other types of places and puzzles Koroks hide in and I don't know them all.
I would suggest doing the Rito dungeon early on, the reward you get there is incredibly useful throughout the game. They're all useful in their own way, but I think that one's the most useful out of the bunch. The Zora one is also incredibly useful (a bit too useful actually)

Avoid guides when possible, and always stop to smell the flowers. Especially the weird ones, they might help you get weapon slot upgrades.

Gems can be sold for money, but don't sell them all, since they do have uses. Keep some monster parts around for making elixers, since you can make big money making lots of elixers.

Try to balance getting heart and stamina upgrades since both are useful. Pick whichever you need most at the time I guess. That said, you might want to try to get 13 total hearts, for... reasons.

If you can't figure something out, take a break or move on to something else, since often times a new perspective is all you need, and this way it's far more fulfulling than using a guide.

Thank you everyone for the useful tips. Could i askk if there is an easy way to figure out exactly where a place is on the map despite never having been there? I was trying to get to Lurelin village.

    My tips.
Use powers in combat to soften up your enemies, throw bombs from afar or down hill, use magnesis to drop boxes on enemy heads, use stasis to roll boulders onto camps and snipe enemies in the face with your bow before drawing your weapon for combat. That being said don't rush to fight at all, sneak past if possible, enemies will level up after a certain amount have been dispatched so don't rush to dispatch each and every moblin.

Increase your inventory with the following priority: melee>bow>shield. Melee is most important as they break quickest then bows, shields last a long time so should only need a couple of expansions, you can never have enough swords.

Mark on your map with a symbol any decent weapons you find that are not in a chest. These weapons respawn with every bloodmoon meaning you can always get back that fancy flaming claymore.

Early on stamina vessels are arguably more important than heart containers, it makes travelling, climbing and flying far easier so aim for another stamina wheel first. Raise your life by sleeping in comfy beds and heart adding food but more importantly learn how to fight not simply tank. Also aim for the zora domain early for a handy boost.

oh? like it's not hard enough already. blue and black goblin/moblin are already long to kill.
Good idea to mark good weapon on the map, I used the marks for other things. I think the marks are not always ideal, too bad we can't add our own text instead.

I just reached Zora, I play at my own pace and explore a lot.

1 - Hearts > Stamina until you have 13 hearts

2 - You can swap health and stamina at some point for a fee

3 - You can get fireproof armor for free

4 - Try and memorize pictures from 100 years ago and look for those places whenever you recognize them

5 - Memorize the location of ancient guardian graveyard

6 - Take horses to stables

7 - Don't worry about weapons breaking, there are plenty, plus bomb and telekinesis are unlimited.

8 - Vulcan area is harder, save it for last if you plan on doing it.

9 - If you ever run into a misty forest which keeps taking you back to start, there is no item/trick necessary tro traverse it, just trial and error suffices even though it seems impossible at first.

10 - Fire melts ice blocks in the game

I used the sword mark for an "Edge of Duality" (I think it's called), it's a 50dmg great sword in a cave with a 35 shield a royal spear and a golden bow, it has good durability and a shrine nearby so every blood moon I swing back in and gear back up.

Any weapons not in a chest respawn on blood moons so Mark up any great ones, there are loads in little secret caves all over. Combine that with lots of inventory space and using upgraded powers in combat and weapon durability is never an issue. Fight smarter not harder is my BoTW moto.

You will find those hard to kill mobs become a lot easier with decent weapons and upgraded armour, after you have killed so many the red ones become blues, blues become blacks etc however you also begin to get bonuses on your weapons like critical hit, faster speed or extra durability.

After finishing Zora you will find survivability increases alot.

Another tip, not related to combat, talk to the painters whenever you see them. They point you towards memories and it's alot better than simply finding guides online, more satisfying and without the painters memories are hard to find but give alot of the story.

There is a way to "respec" your stamina/hearts if you wish to get the "13 hearts" at some point you can respec out your stamina and back in again afterwards.

Guardians beam attack can be parried back at them for massive damage, stand as close as you can to stop them walking and hit parry just after the white flash, once you get the distance and timing you can easily farm these for parts that you will definitely want once you've found somewhere special.

Listen carefully to everyone, they offer tips and hints of things. If someone is talking about somebody else somewhere or some other place go find it, create your own adventure and the game will reward you with amazing things that will often progress your character in some way. These are not often actual side quests so adopt an inquisitive nature.

And my number one tip, don't use a guide, don't rush for progression milestones and talk to people for in game guidance. It's a while before another massive game comes out for Switch so you may as well make the most of this one while you have time to devote.

    Happy hunting :)

I never use guides, and love playing at my own pace, talking to every one and looking for everything by myself. It's more satisfactory en enjoyable.
I don't think I'm dying too often, if not rarely, compared to a friend who always rush and dies. I'm used to previous zelda game I guess.

thank you for all these tips :)

Head south-east until you hit some cliffs. Drop down to the beach. Follow the beach south, you'll find Lurelin :-)
